I am trying to update my g/f's 6682. I only found the updater on the UK nokia site, is there a seperate american version to update the firmware on the 6682 or will the UK update work fine? Anyone know if this will maintain the spanish language pack for the spanish t9 text?

Thanks

I upgraded my 6630 and I lost the spanish on mine. I now have english, french and german. I had to send my phone out to someone to flash so I could get spanish in the first place Now I don't know if I'll be able to get it back.

Well I was able to get the Spanish T9 back using the Nokia Software Updater. I was very close to doing the whole phoenix diego thing when I found an easier way and I only had to change the product code and NSU took care of it.

I have had my Cingular branded 6682 for a little over a year and haven't had a problem (besides an occasional reboot) with it. In fact, I love this phone. Yesterday, for some unknown reason I decided to update the firmware via the Nokia USA site. I followed this link:

http://www.nokiausa.com/support/software/softwareupdate/1,8838,,00.html?

I followed through the steps with no problem and left to get a quick bite to eat for about 30 minutes. When I came back I picked up my phone and noticed that it was off. Figured it was part of the update but I couldn't turn it back on! My phone was plugged into the wall outlet and my desktop is on an APC so I know there was no power disturbance during the update. I imediately called Nokia support and they told me to remove the battery for 15 minutes. I had already done that with no luck. They said I have to send it to a Nokia shop and it'll cost me $150!

So to answer the thread title, NO it doesn't!
