6682 Datacable:put files directly on memory card?

So I bought a used 6682 and the seller didn't have the USB data cable. I can get one for like 8 bucks on ebay but I'm wondering if I need it. I am using bluetooth to transfer things and sync and would only really use the USB to transfer big files if I could put them directly on the memory card (since you can only transfer via bluetooth under 10mb worth of files). I could always get a card reader instead but I'm just wonderinf if you can put files directly on the memory card via the usb cable.

The cable is just faster than BT, but otherwise gives you no advantage and it's not that much faster either. If you transferring large files you'll get greater satisfaction from a memory card reader.

I used my 6682's cable a few times only to flash the phone.
You doesn't need it for anything else.
I even don't use BT, card reader is the only thing I use. It is a must have.

ok cool sounds like that 8 bucks is better spent towards a card reader. Thanks for the info everyone! I have to say this fourm in particular (the Nokia S60 one) has been very prompt and helpful in their responses!

You didn't mention what kind of computer you use. If you're on a Mac, your decision's made for you b/c the USB cable connection won't work. You either use Bluetooth or a card reader (I use the card reader myself).

i actually am on a mac, i figured it would load like USB mass storage but it sounds like not only will it not but you can't put stuff on the memory card via the cable anyway. i'll have to grab a card reader when i decide to spring for the larger memory card.
