6682 Covers

I read on a link you could buy those sticky screen protector things from ebay not sure who its from but ifyou look up like nokia 6682 screen protector or something like that Im sure youll find it!!

My final choice so far is at the end, and I'm still using this protector. Cheap and it's doing an *excellent* job, I would easily purchase this one again and highly recommend it.

lol ok!!! that kinda sucks becuase I think it ende dup being like 20 dollars canadian for one sticker! oh well it will be worth it. I just bought my phone what a week ago today and I just noticed a scratch I was soooo upset so happy I ordered it!
 
Uhm not sure which way you mean -- I tried 5 different ones that everyone thought were popular and you see everywhere (Martin Fields, Clarivue, etc.). But I only purchased 1 of the eBay one from the link above, my last (and best) purchase. It still doesn't have a single scratch on it, and I shove my 6682 in my levi's back pocket on a regular basis. (as well as the front pocket, a hoodie pocket, throwing it on the desk, the floor at home, ...)
 
I got the black rubberized cover with the black keyboard. I'm not going to bother posting pictures because there are others on this thread. The keyboard is subpar compared to the stock one so I'm still using the stock keyboard - this is consistent with my experience with other aftermarket phone keypads - not as good as the OEM. The feel of the case itself is excellent and seems to fit fairly well except that mine, next to the memory slot door, won't catch so it leaves a small gap between the halves. It's not so large that I can't live with it though. The only problem I have now is that the "up" on the d-pad is not as easy to use because the new cover lacks the cutout that is on the OEM case right above the "up" action of the d-pad.

For $12 I'm not complaining though if the fit were perfect I would be happier. I may disassemble again and see if I can find a way to get the side to catch as well as take a small pen knife and shave off the case right above the "up" button.

The real benefit of this case is that the camera door is essentially impossible to open accidentally because the rubber tends to "catch". You really have to mean it to open the camera door, and it lacks the looseness that the OEM case had resulting in a bit of rattle.
 
OK, as an update, the cover does fit perfectly if you use the provided keypad. The provided keypad is liveable and probably better than having a small opening on the side of the phone that will allow excess dust to enter.

I guess you can't have everything. Nokia should make rubberized OEM covers - rubberized is a superior material for the exterior of a phone. The OEM pearl case the phone came with is downright slippery whereas this is easy to grip.

I don't -- I hated the rubbery E398 casing (donated that phone to a friend after hacking it for awhile). If you routinely slip the phone in and out of your jeans pocket, the rubbery stuff makes it a pain. I carry my 6682 in my back levi's pocket a lot (when I don't have a hoodie or jacket etc.) and like it's slip-n-slide action.

people who bought the rubber casing, who did you get it from? I got mine from DrSourcing on ebay which was a good seller but isn't on Ebay anymore. I trusted him and he had different colors too, white, blue, brown and pink. Anyone?
 
My final opinion is that the rubberized cases from Drsourcing (since booted from eBay for some reason or another) are ***almost*** there. I've had aftermarket cases that were MUCH worse. However this one is literally a killer for sound quality and volume. I spent a couple of hours trying to put a foam ring around the speaker within the phone to direct sound through the provided holes but I finally realized that the reason the OEM case works is that the speaker forms a seal with the front of the case - you just can't achieve this with any amount of hacking on the rubberized case.

If you look at the inside of the OEM face piece it has a plastic ring that's designed to fit the speaker perfectly. If someone can find a rubberized case that has that feature it might be OK. I'm sorry to lose the grip and durability of the rubber case but the volume was my biggest issue. In the car today I had the thing cranked to max and still could barely understand the party on the other end. Meanwhile I'm back to the slippery OEM pearl case.

That's my $0.02. If someone finds a solution to the sound issues, post it here. If you use bluetooth 90% of the time then this still might work ok for you.
 
what about dust under the screen after swapping faceplates? I remember on some of my older phones they would get crazy amounts of dust underneath the faceplate after switching them even if you were quick and as careful as could be.

Also what about the middle part of the phone, the part that the electronics are attached to I haven't really seen these aftermarket especially here in the us. I think it would look bad having a silver middle part with black front and back.
 
I got the best fitting case ever guys...its from Compusa made by foneGEAR. Its also lifetime warranty. It was like 14$ and change. The belt clip spins around so you can wear it up or down...holds the phone VERY snug. Even if the flap opens, it still takes a tad effort to remove it from the case. Its soo perfect, you would swear it was made for this phone. Its just says Universal/Razr V3. Seriouly great case for the money...and i almost spent 24$ on a Nokia OEM case.
