6682 Covers

According to the others here who have had experience with the rubberized ones, apparently they didn't have the proper cutouts for the speaker part (where your ear would be) and as such made call volume very low; did you have these problems?

I had the hearing problems with the all black rubberizes cover but not with the regular face one's - the black 6682 in my signature has the rubberized face plate on it. This is the best fake cover I got out of the five I purchased.

Wow, that really does look awesome!!!! I'm not sure if I want to have volume problems though. I'll most likely buy one anyways and just be careful tampering with it to make the earpiece hole bigger. I hope that will work.

sweet, i just ordered 3 faceplates from dr.sourcing at ebay. black plastic with keyboard, black rubber with black keyboard, and black rubber, with silver on it and silver keyboard... we'll see how they work out.

I have used Nail polish, but like it was said in a prior post, you will have to be SUPER careful in using it. I have used it on a few phones and havent damaged the the OEM face plates on most phones, since the plastic itself is colored and not painted. However, the cheap face plates are painted and will rub off.

I use just a dab on a qtip, brushing just the logo and being very careful...never had a problem.

By "regular faced ones" do you mean the non-rubberized faces from the same vendor? I kind of want a white faceplate, but not if I'm going to have volume problems.

anyone know how simple these are to pop on and off? Can the average joe do it without any problems, and are they made to be interchangeable?

Im thinking he means the finish of the case...my OEM silver case has a hard plastic, or metal feel to it....the non OEM black one comes with a rubber or soft plastic finish.

There's gotta be a way to remedy that. Some have said making the earpiece hole larger (it's such a cheap cover, why not) and others have said that it's the lack of a foam piece on the aftermarket faceplate to "direct" the sound through the earhole. I'll check it when I get mine. Right now the 6682 is nice and loud so I'd like to keep it that way.

Honestly, I'm not completely sure. After checking out the Rogers Wireless website, it appears as that's the one they have available. Mine is the unbranded direct from Nokia version. It came with Pearl White on it, and I was just looking for a replacment for the inevitable future.

Heh. ok. I had mine for all of a week and carrying the phone in my pocket has already scratch the screen a bit. And leaving it on the console of my car while driving has put some small scratches into the back already (ok, so you have to look close, but there are small scratches!!)

So it's high time to go get a cover before it's too late And ordering one of those housings too...

Is this one that would have a soft plastic finish?

I bought a black one from the same guy you are talking about and the "up" button didn't push down all the way. Almost had to use excessive force! But never the less it was only 5.99. I am getting the OEM silver one as well.
