6630 Java Apps quit unexpectedly

I'm guessing this is just a memory issue and the OS is shutting down the apps when it runs out of memory.

For the longest time I've had a problem with apps quitting on me on their own. This happens after a minute, 2, 15 of usage and it has happened mostly with Java apps. Gmail and Google Maps work fine. That chinese MSN app used to be one of the ones suffering from these. I am trying Nimbuzz now and it has done it once, although it did it just after an SMS came in (to the phone not Nimbuzz). So that's why I think it's due to the limited amount of memory on Symbian phones, although I know that the 6630 is not as bad as others.

Any thoughts?

Java does use a lot of ram. This is what really annoys me about this OS, when memory is low I think it would be far better if the phone gave you an option of what app you would like to close if memory is low rather than just shutting down whatever it fancies. You're not alone with this issue. It happens all the time with my N73. Very frustrating.

Yeah it'd be nice to have the option.

I was pretty sure I knew this was what was going on. I've had the issue since I had the phone but I had never really asked and it really doesn't bother me that much. This app seems to be very RAM hungry on top of it being Java. Can't blame the OS for favoring a native Symbian app over a Java app.
