6255 can't play mp3

I have new Nokia 6255, new 256 meg mmc card, I have slot for card on my computer and put 1 mp3 on card, put card back in phone, but it would not recognize the mp3, tried to transfer it to phone memory, but it was a little too large of a file. How do I get it to play the mp3?

It works on mine. I bought the data cable and loaded it via PC Suite. You may try that.
