6170 data cable not working

i bought a aftermarket data cable for my 6170 and downloaded the drivers and PC suite from nokia, when i plug in the cable my phone reads "enhancement not supported"

what am i doing wrong? is it the after market cable?

no ok it doesn't work on your model.

Hmm never seen this issue, Try turning the phone off pluging the cable in and then turning the phone on, that may help.

Not likely those things usually work prety well.

Its always a possibility that its the cable tho.

What firmware version do you have in your Phone ATM
 
I have gotten that message before. It usually requires me to hook/unhook a couple times, or after I plug it in, I let it sit, and it will cycle through "Data Cable Connected" "Enhancement Not Supported" and "Data Connection Ended" a few times before I start my software and then everything is fine. Sometimes it can take up to 2 min. before it is ready.
 
im still trying to install it after installing my drivers and it wont connect, ive let it sit for a good 15 minutes with no luck
 
when i goto my enhancment menu it only lists "charger" shouldnt data cable be on that list also?

Have you tried to dl a driver? Some phones need a driver so that PC Suite can reconize it. It happened to me and after I did that it worked....hopefully it'll work for you. :p
