June 17th my 6100 stopped receiving signal. I've purchased a new 6141 but have heard rumours from bell clerk and someone else that bell had sent letters to 6100 owners and apparently replacing the 6100 due to some technical changes beyond my knowledge. Could this be why my 6100 stopped working and is there any truth to these comments I've heard. Would they only be replacing this for rental units and possibly why I haven't heard anything. Is it possible to have my 6100 repaired or would it be more expensive than buying a new one. Thanks for any info. Hniel

You could of signed up for dish care for 6.95 a month, and called back in 2-3 weeks and got a replacement receiver sent out for free.

My guess is its not the receiver causing the loss of signal anyway. It is extremely rare to lose the tuner in a 6100.

well, my rental 6100 went out last monday the 15th. kept trying to lock onto transponders. it was as if there was no cable plugged in.
switched the cable to my trusty 3100 and all is well. so Bell sent me another 6100 in the mail, and this time the picture keeps freezing. 10 seconds of picture then 40 or so seconds of freeze.

so they are now sending me another receiver. a friend of mine has been having problems since the 15th as well, with his 5900.

would this be caused by a bad cable where maybe the 6100 is more sensitive?
2 6100's will not work, but the 3100 has no problems... or just bad luck cuz they sent me a lemon?

If you ran a Check Switch and this did not cure the problem, they shipped you a lemon.....
