6 gallon tank?

Hog 0308 I was having the same issues... now I know it isn't a good idea to run an EFI bike dry, but I had to know. No one could give me an answer....
The fuel pump works hot, and the fuel cools it down. If there's no fuel in the tank, the pump coud burn out and you will have to expend a lot of $$$$$$$$. So, never let your tank be too low...

Filled up this am the trip meter said 48 mi. left reserve light was on, took 4.77 gal. farthest down I have taken it was 5.4 gal. at fill up. That was riding between Gila Bend and El Centro 2 up fully loaded 178 mi. I told my wife that we needed to see that big In 'n Out Burger sign real soon!

I've pumped 5.8 gallons... After running out of gas within pushing distance of a gas station... Live and learn. Thank goodness my better half wasn't on back when it happened!

How accurate is the trip-odometer ??
Wife and I traveled 272 miles on a tank last Saturday....filled up
and it took 5.1 gals. I'm anal about parking on a level surface when
fueling up, and also fill to the neck.

I'm guessing the odometer may need calibrating....but as long as
its consistent I can go from there

Same for me as many have already mentioned. Once I get down to about 40 miles left on the range meter, the gas light comes on. Once the range meter counts down to 10, then reads "Lo", I could probably still go another 20 miles or so since the most I've ever put in is 5.4 gallons and that was after the range meter was reading Lo.

Yep, the analog gas gauge isn't too accurate... reads E long before it's empty.

Go by the ECM's range calculation... when the range left displays "LO" go get gas...

Ran my 08 SG on the countdown till low another 20 miles put in 5.2, obviously inaccurate but I agree better to think you are out and make it to a station than the other way around!
