6 FARAD KOLE AUDIO CAPACITOR?

ARE THE CAPACITOR SUPPOSE TO TURN OF WHEN THE MUSIC IS PLAYING?
IS IT SUPPOSE TO TURN OFF BY IT SELF ?

I CONNECTED THE POSITIVE TO BOTH OF MY AMPS BATTERY AND A WIRE STRAIGHT TO THE BATTERY AND NEGATIVE TO CHASSIS IS THAT THE CORRECT WAY TO INSTALL IT?
 
You run a wire from the negative terminal of the capacitor to the chassis and for the positive terminal you run a cable from the battery to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp. so that the two positive wires join together on the positive terminal of the cap.

that is one of many ways to do it and is recommended.
