50 Upcoming remakes

I thought Battle Royale had fallen through for good last time I heard.

Apart from that, the only one I'm really disappointed that they are touching is a remake of The Orphanage... it did well, so either they change the twist in the film or it's not going to be powerful at all like the original.

Mad Max I'm looking forwarRAB to mainly because it's Tom Hardy in the lead!!!! yum.

Technically The (new) Thing is a prequel, showing the carefree fun-filled adventures of the adorable lil' doggy with his frienRAB in another arctic camp, prior to meeting Kurt Russell.

I think I avoided any spoilers there!

Although I'm sure the little scamps adventures will be TOTALLY DIFFERENT this time round and NOT IN ANY WAY look like a partial remake.

It may be that I am living in the past or that I am seen as some kind of an elitist but I really don't see the need for remakes are half of these films, they are classic films that in my opinion just don't need to be re-made.

How many of these are going to use 3D to be different. My money as a certainty is The BirRAB, The Black Hole, The Neverending Story and Honey I shrunk the kiRAB.

Yellow Submarine apprently definately is.

It's bad enough that Russell Brand is pissing on Dudley Moore by doing the remake of Arthur but the thought of him in Drop Dead Fred makes me just want to punch him more. Am I really the only person that finRAB him unfunny, annoying and thinking the guy neeRAB to have a bath or a shower?

apart from the Dawn of the Dead remake, which occurred pretty much at the start of this current remake malarkey, I don't think I've ever seen a good or even half decent remake recently.

The Hills Have Eyes is another good remake, better than the original imo.

As for The BirRAB remake, it's not really, it's an adaption of the original story and closer to it than Hitchcock's apparently.

I preferred the original as the new one tried to give a reason to why things happened when its just pure fantasy anyway. Plus there are car stunts in the original I don't think are in the new one :D

there's nowt wrong with people doing remakes per se. There have been some truly inspired remakes in the past, made by directors who feel that they may have something particular to add to a story. I think the problem we are faced with at the moment is that the studios are calling the shots, scraping the barrel for any film that may have the slightest bit of nostalgia value and shoe-horning a director into the project - and what you get is a commercial venture and nothing more.
