5 to 6 months off Lexapro

I was prescribed lexapro about 7 years ago when having violent thoughts, anxiety and general depression. Worked well for the whole time. Felt a ton better. About a year ago I got tired of the sexual side effects, and the doped up feeling some days. Also, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and the Neuro said It would help with the anxiety caused by that as well. Well, I tapered off over a years tim roughly and when I stopped had no reall withdrawals, and when I did, I dropped a Benadryl which helped immensely. Now, after 6 months off or so, its all coming back, and also fear with the whole swine flu thing. Im obsessing about the flu, taking my temperature dozens of times a day, and now have started taking my 9yr olRAB temp too. He thinks im nuts lol. Has anyone gone off an anxiety drug, been real good for a while and then have it all come back? Has anyone gon back on thier drug after the time off it? any experiences would be helpful. thanks.
 
Yup! I have gone off my medication many times, only to slowly spiral back down to where I was before. Full of anxiety, panic and OCD. Then I would drag myself back to the doctor and get back on my medication again. I sometimes when a year or more off medication. Even though I thought I was the same others saw the difference in me fairly soon. So I am taking Paxil as we speak :)
 
I've gone off and on prozac three times now. I convince myself im a 100% cured, so I wean myself off...and then guess what happens...it all comes back. I feel like people like us... actually do have a chemical irabalance in our brains and maybe our anxiety is not at all situational but completely chemical related.

Sucks! I admit! I have gone as long as two years without any anxiety symptoms and then boom! it all hit again. The biggest trigger is usually when I get sick... I often check my temperature as well. Actually every day, and my blood pressure. Anxiety is terrible... i went back on prozac 8 weeks ago and it has helped so much! I plan on staying on it a long long while.

I had also heard that going back on an SSRI was dangerous for some silly reason but I am sure that was all a myth
