most dodge v8s are good i had a 360 and a 318. both were solid motors

5.2 is the same as the 318. They are very good engines and Dodge pickups are very good and also have a very sturdy transmission. There were a few years of these trucks that they placed the Catalytic converters too close to the transmission and sometimes the Cat's plug and over heat the torque converter, think this was around 1998 so if the truck is around that age you should check with a tranny or exhaust shop to see if yours needs modifying to ensure your tranny won't get damaged.
