Hey Everyone!
I have an Alpine Car stereo CDA-9884 and it has an MP3 adapter that has flawlessly connected my 2nd generation iPod. That iPod recently filled up and with the new 5th generation iPod coming out I got a great deal on a 16GB 4th Generation on clearance at Best Buy. However, when I connect the new iPod to the adapter, it will play but not charge. I have heard from people at Best Buy that the adapter connection on the iPod changed with the 4th and 5th generation models (which, in my opinion, is ridiculous), but I'm wondering if there is an adapter available to allow it to play/charge in car like it used to? I looked on the Alpine Website and they have the adapter I have (KCE-422i) listed as being able to play/charge 4th and 5th generation iPods.
Anyone have any ideas? Every place (apple and alpine) is closed today, so I was just seeing if I could resolve this myself. Thanks!
