Due to low responses in the weekly and monthly threads, this will be the talkback for all of M'arillian Invasion.

After 40 episodes with Flash animation, the official season 2 of Chaotic begins today on 4Kids TV with traditional animation restored. When we last left the gang, Tom had just been reported as cheating by Kaz. Codemaster Imthor investigated the claim and found it to be true. Instead of letting himself be kicked out of Chaotic, Major Tom decided to flee to Perim. What is the reason behind Tom's cheating? Will he and Kaz be able to renew their friendship? These answers, and more, will be revealed in:
Episode 41- "A Rare Hazard"

Meet your stars:
Tom-season2.png
Tom Majors/ Major Tom: Tom is a big fan of the Over World deck and is best friends with Kaz. Whenever he is in Perim, Tom tends to try and scan the strongest creatures, but it typically results in them playing jokes on him with him losing out. Will he ever have luck and be able to build the ultimate deck?

Kaz-season2.png
Kaz Kalinkas/ Kid Chaor: Kaz introduced Tom to Chaotic as a card game, and when he learned Tom had been invited to the online game, he helped convince him to join. Kaz is a fan of the Under World deck, but he typically has to save his Under world friends instead of getting stronger weapons.

Peyton-season2.png
Peyton/ Peytonic Master: Peyton is a man who sits back with a relaxed attitude. He is willing to help anyone improve their game, as long as they don't have a temper or cheat. His slang often confuses people, but his Mipedian deck makes him one of the strongest players.

Sarah-season2.png
Sarah/ Chaotickween: Sarah tends to speak her mind, and it often gets her in trouble, but her brains tend to also help the guys out of trouble and make her one of the top Chaotic females in the game. Sarah's one weakness comes in loving insects though, and it has led her to adapt the Danians as her own.

&
Klay.jpg
Krystella and Klay/ Klaytonic:Whenever you see these two, it's typically wise to turn the other way and run. They tend to lie, cheat, and steal to make sure they can win a match, and they have quickly developed a hatred for Tom and company. Still, it seems these two trained Tom to cheat against Kaz, so one wonders what they re really up to, especially when they use various tribes to assess the competition instead of having a favorite.

I liked it. The new animation was really smooth and fluid. And I loved the battle scenes. The story wasn't half bad either, with the big reveal that...well, the whole Tom cheating ordeal being just a ruse to capture some bad Chaotic players. I figured something was off about Tom cheating last season, and it looks like I was right.

Unfortunately, that also means we're right back to square one, as usual. Back to basics, I guess.

Yeah Tom and Kaz were so out of character during the season finale that of course something like this was up. And yeah back to square one instead of actually changing things for a while.

However the animation, especially that opening chaotic battle were really impressive.

Sigh the shows decent but it could be much more then it is. So it's still the same only much easier to look at.

What's te spelling of that place again?

Amorak Cavern?
Amorack?
Amerak?

It has now established that any objects in contact with the player will be taken if transported to another part of Perim.

New locations and 'gear shown or mentioned this episode:

Location: Akarak Cavern
Location: Gyllyk's Grove
Location: Mugician's Arch
Location: Summit of Sorrows
BattleGear: Sonic Charge

I noticed they finally showed one of the Warbeast in the new opening (Uboraan) as well as some of the new M'arillian Invasion cards (Bladez and Open Doors of the Deepminds).

Speaking of the new opening, it kind of annoyed me how it seemed to focus more on the monsters than the characters. I suppose the monsters are what 4Kids wants the kids to see more of, but hey, the show wouldn't be much without the kids.

Well, the monsters are characters too. They're not just holograms or just say their name. I think Maxxor is just as much a character as Tom.

Plus, if M'arillian Invasion keepsto it's name, then the monsters will be more of a focus since the M'arillian are going to be the fifth tribe that comes back and wages war with all the other tribes (going by card lore). Hopefully that means more Perim adventures like this episode.

I can say I was impressed with the way the monster battles in the intro are now shown. It looks like the attacks have only been made better with the traditional animation.

Tom really didn't have much of an attitude adjustment in this episode. I knew something was up though as soon as Maxxor came and said he'd better have a good reason for getting those charges. We also see how much Maxxor is now trusting Tom and Kaz. Maxxor contacted Tom about the sites being destroyed, and next week is another Maxxor with Tom and Kaz episode, so some things won't be changing. As far as Kaz, he was a bit too moody in this episode for my likes. I understand he was acting, bgut being happy, disgusted, angry, sad, etc. all in the same episode is a bit tiring.

Who'd have thought the Codemasters had the ability to deactivate transpot disks. The more we learn about Chaotic, the more questions are introduced. Overall it was an enjoyable debut, and I look forward to next week.

We need an expanded universe.

Why? Because it would really help flesh things out.

I still haven't seen any significant creatures in uniform (aka a group creatures in an actual army of the tribe) and those in uniform tend to be unimportant.

If Star Wars can give personality to a clone trooper in the 'Battlefront' videogame, why can't Chaotic do the same once in a while?

Well, it the whole M'arrillian Invasion thing holds up plot-wise like how it goes in the cards, then I'm personally glad that we get a bit more of the normal episodes we always get before we move on to bigger plot points. I'm quite eager to see scan quests and full battles in this new animation, which totally blew my mind in the first episode alone.

I loved the episode in general, especially since it introduced a few new concepts, like scanners in different colors, new Battlegear and Locations, finding out that Codemasters have the ability to deactivate scanners, and getting to see that Klay and Krystella aren't the only players in Chaotic who are rotten to the core. The only thing I felt was missing was the fact that after the whole situation got resolved, we didn't get any acknowledgement of those four players getting punished by the Codemasters.

I almost literally laughed when they recapped last season's episode in their new animation. It was awesome!

I'm looking forward to this season.

Episode 42
"Dangers of Diplomacy"

Tom and Kaz help an OverWorld Diplomat and gain additional respect from Maxxor. As a result, he promises them a reward, but what will it be?

And since he is one of the stars in this weeks episode, here is the new Maxxor:

I enjoyed this episode, it had a dark kind of sad ending to it. The story is not really original, using a peace loving diplomat as an assassion has been done before (What plot has not)

Oh course some questions are rased like Why don't the Damiens use that parasite on everyone. As well as the aging of the creatures and so on (Maxxor pretty much looks the same in that flashback while his friend is much younger.)

However it was not bad.

Dang I was hoping for an Overworld republic.

But the tribunal seems like a combination of the courts and a senate.

Also there is the thing with John Adams and John Q. Adams.

I agree, this was a much better episode than we have seen in the past.

I think the whole point of the subtafuge was to Infect/Assimilate Maxxor not actually kill him. He was able to destroy the parasite before it was able to infect him. I like how they are using the Assimilated creatures from the game on the show now. I'm guessing they will probably loosely follow the concepts from Silent Sands and Zenith of the Hive (Assimilation and Warbeast) and then get into the M'arrillian Invasion later on in the season.
