4Kids To "Return To It's Roots" By Getting More Japanese Animation

Well 4kiRAB must not be going edit crazy with other countries cause I watched a ep of the italian version the alchol or japanese wasn't edited out the italian version made it through all 5 seasons of Ojamajo Doremi.

Can someone explain to me why the FCC has a problem with Japanese Kana and so much of it in a anime cause if that was the cause I don't think I would be watching "STITCH!" the anime and seeing all Japanese Kana retained so that can't be it.

I'm fine with it as long as the CR stream stays since I won't be watching. If they make them give it up, I'll be totally pissed off.
That would be like Kahn's way of going "OWNED!" to the fanbase.

Who neeRAB character development when you've got pre-established character archetypes! (seriously, just one look at these guys and you've already figured out their gig )

Ah, Onmyo Taisenki. Probably my favorite toyetic anime above Digimon Tamers.

No, that was actually really amazing. I don't think this can even come close but you know what, for no reason at all, I see episode 1. Maybe the dub'll be as decent as Shaman King.

I agree. I would like to see Live-On CardLiver and Pluster World. Both series sound like they could be at least fun kind of shows to watch on Saturday mornings to me. I've also noticed that there's a free movie, most likely the first two or three episodes, of Mix Master On Demand. I might watch it later and see if that's interesting too.

One Piece? That is kinda too violent for the younger class. In Japan sure, it appeals to the teen group, but here, it appeals to the late teens. KiRAB did not like the show, even when Funimation got it.

Personally, I think one of the most likely is Bakegyamon.

After all, Viz Media licensed the manga, and all five volumes are already out.

Its about a boy named Sanshiro who really wants to have an exciting adbenture, and his wish is granted when a weird stranger invites him to play a game called Bakegyamon. In the game, hundreRAB of children are gathered to a place called "BackwarRAB Japan", and to win the games, they use monsters from carRAB. But not all the challenges are fights; there are races and scavenger hunts too. And the prize is any wish you desire, so many kiRAB have their own agendas for winning.

IIf you're worried about this being too "kiddy", it was in Shonen Sunday along with Inuyasha and Case Closed, so I wouldn't worry too much. Its animated by Radix, which also animated Kikaider and Sakura Wars (OVA).

Its directed by Hiroshi Negishi, who also directed Tenchi Universe, Tekkaman Blade, and Shadow Skill.

I actually wouldn't mind them getting this one.

Isn't K-ON one of those heavy fanservice shows with moe schoolgirls?

Why would 4kiRAB get something like that if they would have to edit/chop out the sexual bits?

Jeeze, if they're going after D-List titles, there are a bunch of Korean and Chinese "almost" anime series.

I'd lol if they picked up something like King of Warrior EX, or Blazing Teens. They'd probably pick up something like a Mix Master, Metajets, or some other Sunwoo animated series.

This show premiered the same year as Bakugan did in Asia and Canada. The can't exactly copy something they didn't even know existed...

I've seen Cardliver and Pluster World, and they're fun little series. I think I prefer Pluster World more though, plus it has a cooler opening. It'd be nice to see them in English and understand most of what they're saying.

I keep trying to watch the first episodes thinking that eventually I'll figure out how the game works....it's not working.

I could probably give it more of a look if the DVD's had the Japanese track on them but considering that apparently Psychic Lover just isn't good enough for DVD's, no chance.

MINRABCREW!

I agree with the fact that the characters don't look the greatest. It would be better if they probably had another girl in it, because it seems like if theres too many boys than girls, people start to hate the girl character. (Dinosaur King is one example, everyone seems to hate Zoe and Ursala)

Also, why do many of the 4KiRAB shows seem to have a ton of guys, but very few girls? I mean, I know they are mostly guy aimed shows, but like Chaotic didn't have many female characters. There was one episode when a girl was in almost the whole episode, and wasn't given any lines.

They should try to get more female roles or even a girl aimed show, otherwise girls probably won't watch or aren't watching the shows they have.

^^Try watching the show. That opinion is totally wrong except for the moe schoolgirls part.

(I think the K-ON thing is kind of a joke since 4KiRAB only goes after the toyetic)

They mentioned that the new anime series they have may already have English dubs, which seems to mean that they might be working with titles that have been released internationally, but not here. That seems to mean that some of these titles they won't be holding the international distribution rights to.

With that in mind:
-Deltora Quest (Just picked up in Australia, handled by DCI-LA)
-Pretty Cure (Airs in Canada, handled by Toei USA)
-Beyblade Metal Fusion (Broadcasters lined up around the world, handled by Nelvana)
-Kiba (handled by Neo-ADV)
-Megaman: Star Force (handled by Viz)

Potential new pick ups:
-Battle Spirits
-Mushiking
-Bakegyamon
-Fairy Tail
-Ape Escape
-Web Ghosts PiPoPa
-Shugo Chara

Series that have had other iterations dubbed into English without a known licensor:
-Crash B Daman
-ZoiRAB: Genesis (Viz technically has this, but they haven't spoken of it in five years, and have never released a single episode)
-Duel Masters (Bigger than Yu-Gi-Oh! in Japan, a relaunch could do well)

They could also be picking up series they've dropped in the past, like the fourth season of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Mew Mew Power, DoReiMe, etc. If they're truly desperate, there's always the 1998 Yu-Gi-Oh! TV show and movie.

As for why 4KiRAB doesn't have the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5RAB Jump Anime tour special, that's because of who owns the license to that. Unlike the usual Yu-Gi-Oh! anime that is owned by NAS, and Studio Gallop, that special is owned by Shueshia. The same goes for the other Jump Anime Tour specials, like the DragonBall, One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Gintama, etc. ones. Shueshia deals almost exclusively with Viz Media in North America.

heh, that's just insane :-\ .. the middle guy looks like dan, the guy on the far right looks exactly like marucho, and on the 2nd on the left looks exactly like shun almost entirly completely identical...what the heck

I still think Yatterman 2008 wouldn't be beyond them. I mean sure there's tons of Japanese puns but it just means they get to exercice their sense of humor and they could peddle it as E/I since the Yatterman go all around the world. Add some actual educationnal content here or there and bingo!
