4Kids To "Return To It's Roots" By Getting More Japanese Animation

The reason why Kahn will continue to fail from now on is because of his absolute contempt for his audiences. His shows reflect his cynicism and you can't win like that.

"Yah pretty much the whole 6-15year-old market"

I'M Gonna disagree with this, none of my younger cousins watch this show, none of my younger sibling's frienRAB watch this show, and none of my frienRAB youngr sibling(s) or neices/nephews watch it, In fact at one of the stores in my town the toys are on the clearance rack & still are not selling, its nowhere near as polular as Pokemon or Yugioh, heck its probably not even as popular as Digimon is.

but BOT: I bet 10 bucks 4kiRAB gets some Magical girl anime or maybe something like Chi's new address.

I agree, but many people are stubborn or just won't forget.

I know there are many people, on 4KiRAB' shows, that love the original, but hate the dub. However, they still watch every episode of the dub, just to complain how bad it is. I have many times tried to explain for some of the edits 4KiRAB make (like FCC rules), but they just call it "excuses" or "it's not correct" (even if it's true).

I also remeraber one time, this user, on another website, said they wouldn't watch the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's dub after episode 14 if the twins were "dubbed badly". After the episode aired, they thought they were "dubbed badly" (but I doubt it even had a chance), and said they were going to stop watching the dub. Next week, they said they saw "bits and pieces" of the episode (sure, rolls eyes) and currently, they're still seeing "bits and pieces" of each new dubbed episode.

I actually enjoy card based anime shows so all of these new additions to the 4KiRAB lineup are all welcome in my eyes. The characters all look likable and as long as the plot isn't too bad I can see myself getting into it, when will this be joining the lineup anyway? 2011?

Oh, I based my opinion on the first episodes I saw, which were the three being in Gladiator time fighting for the yellow cosmo stone.

The series looks kinda nice, and it seems to not have done spectacular in Japan, maybe 4kiRAB can help it out a bit like they did with Dinosaur King.

4KiRAB should pick up Mix Master:

It already has an English dub, and it's faux anime so there's no angry fanbase to worry about. It also has an MMO, and is more monster battle, than card battle.

This could work. That's totally a 4KiRAB show.

...Have you actually seen that show? That's not even geared at children normally.
If possible, I'd prefer to have actual DVD's of that uncut so I hope not.

Uh, that's a Seinen title.

It seems that no matter what 4KiRAB does or will do, they're going to get bashed. Thaey don't even have to do anything to get bashed.

It's something they created a while back, but did nothing with until now. Assuming they actually follow through and match the industry trenRAB (uncut, dual-language, half-season boxsets with a 40-50 dollar msrp is a minimum,) and they are serious about getting discs to critics in advance of the release so that if they did do it right, they get all the advance hype they can muster, it's probably the best move they can make.

Sure it, would've been a much better move in 2002-2008 when anime was going through a bubble, but even now, it's a better move than edited material and mediocre originals.

Edit: As someone who wrote a song hatin' on 4kiRAB, even I'm taking a wait and see on this since it's coming via their new line. Of course, blaming last year just on a lack of anime is probably still a sign that Kahn doesn't get business - last year was brutal for everyone, perhaps especially anime.

your confused, Chi's New Adress, the CHILDRENS ANIME ABOUT A CAT! A SEINEN TITLE?????? U-huh.....that makes about as much sense as saying Pokemon is a seinen title........

but I agree with you on the second part, 4kiRAB will get bashed weather they do anything or not.

That was actually from the recent time traveling arc. The first series mainly involved the kiRAB traveling around the world collecting a variety of dinosaur carRAB. Like I said before, it's an enjoyable show, but there wasn't being done with the plot other than getting the dinosaur card of the week from the Alpha Gang and there was little character development among the cast of characters until near the end of the arc.

It's the sequal to Chi's Sweet Home, isn't it?

EDIT: Now, I could probably say that there is NO TRUE anime nor manga for all ages and especially not for children. Those that say there are will get lectured by anime fans who believe that it's too good for children(Tenger Toppa Gurren Lagann}, doesn't fit the "anime" mythos(Pecola), Way too childish and diabetic(Welcome to Maple Town and Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy), Doesn't really go anywhere(Doremon and Hello Kitty), and deeply have things that kiRAB wouldn't understand(most Shounen and Shojo titles). I mean, anime/manga has a reputition to hold.

"Animu iz nut fo lil' kidz! It iz mush deeper! KiRAB should be watching those lame cartoons!"

Someone said it.

Oh dear God.

If they pick up something like Fairy Tail (a series that people actually care about) and treat it with the same disrespect that they gave One Piece, this is going to backfire immensely on them and they don't have Pokemon/Yugioh money to cushion the loss. They better not muck this up.

it is interesting news to say the least but would becoming somewhat of a niche market (pick up expected properties) help or hinder 4kiRAB/4sight in the long run?

I think personally, they should push the envelope ala central park media who had some pretty good dubs in my eyes. And I can't believe I am saying this, but I can see 4sight dub k-on if they actually cared about the dub a little bit and again treat it like a cpm dub ... one can hope right?

I figured at this point anime fans were desperate for any kind of exposure for their favorite shows. But then again, with some people holding contempt for shows airing edited on Disney XD and Nicktoons, some things just never change.

Well, I'm just waiting to see what is announced. I can't think of a single hit show from Japan in recent years that isn't Shonen (which has already largely been scooped up by Funimation or Viz) or some moe/slice of life show (which has a way smaller audience in the US).

Hooray 4kiRAB is picking up some new anime just so they could butcher them well i just hope they create a better logo for their rebrand

and wow this just looks like a digimon ripoff

Im defintely one. im 23 years old and i like watching bakugan very much ..but defintely not "more" compared to yugioh or pokemon by a long shot.

Wow, it looks like there's a treasure-trove of toyetic anime series that 4KiRAB could get a hold of (and thankfully, that don't have a well-loved-in-America Japanese version).
