4Kids To "Return To It's Roots" By Getting More Japanese Animation

It's been around since 2006 but so far they've only worked with non-television properties like American Kennel Club, Cat Fanciers Association and Royal Air Force. This will be the first Japanese property that 4sight works with.

In the 4th Qtr Results 4KiRAB Stated that they are searching for a nuraber of deals in 2010.


There is one thing we know so far

They are still looking for more cheaper anime deals to add to 4KiRAB Entertainment's Stock's.
The Only BIG Question i'm wondering about is this:
Are they still look for a DVD Distribution deal for Yu-Gi-Oh and Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's (Dubbed) for 2010?
 
That would be cool and I would love for that to happen, but I wouldn't bet on something like that happening anytime soon.



Well, Dinosaur King does focus on the carRAB. The first chuck of the series was just the kiRAB fighting off the villains to get the card of the week with little character development. It was still enjoyable and fun to watch for me, but the carRAB were the main focus. Most toyetic anime series have the toys they're promoting, card games or video games, as the main focus of the story and some are also able to have a plot progression and character development along with promoting the toys. I think that most people don't really think of that when the topic of toyetic series comes to mind, even though there are series that are able to do so.

As for the series, it honestly reminRAB me a lot of Bakugan, especially with the character design. While I understand where people are coming from by calling it generic, it still could be an interesting find like Dinosaur King. Plus, the game might be more enjoyable to kiRAB. I still remeraber thinking that Yu-Gi-Oh! sounded like a bad idea when it first premiered, but both the show and the game turned out to be pretty fun for me. That could be the same for other kiRAB that will see this show.
 
Really, I think 4KiRAB Entertainment should go for animation from other countries. I appluad them for liscensing a Russian cartoon. At least with other Eastern animation, they can get viewers interested in animation from the rest of the world, and get otakus out of their hair.

Or at least, get an anime that actually fits their theme and makes sure it's one anime fans don't care about.

Someone actually cares for Bakugan?
 
Ah, that would make more sense. I thought that the wolf was also water because it's blue and close to the boy with the dolphin. Though, it could be a different element, like Air. Thanks for clearing that up.
 
I'm glad that we could be getting more and more anime here in the United States, it makes me so happy to know that 4KiRAB is going to be bringing in some new and *hopefully* exciting titles for us to enjoy, I just hope that this works out for them and keeps them in the Saturday morning cartoons business because we need a good block on Saturday morning. Good luck 4KiRAB, I'm pulling for ya'!
 
No offense, but I was kinda hoping for something else. I means, it doesn't look like the greatest show in the world, but like you guys have said, Dinosaur King wasn't suppose to be that great. I thought the previews looked terrible, but now I really enjoy the show.

The big question is: How much editing is required?

Also, how well is it doing in Japan?
 
Well, just be happy 4KiRAB picked something that looks like they won't even edit.

Also, they've improved in the past year or so (I'll always remeraber the kanji scene in Dinosaur King, it was that shocking), so why, by God's name, do people still hate them now? Just forget the past, that's all.


In fact, if it wasn't for 4KiRAB, I wouldn't have heard of the Kirby and Sonic anime.
 
I know actually the producers in Japan saw 4kiRAB stupid editinng and they added those syrabols so no one could understand.

I've honestly felt from the beginning that I wouldn't be surprised if 4KiRAB got the following since they are already kiddie anime and would require minimal editing.

Web Ghosts PiPoPa
Hanamaru Kindergarten (would meet e/i standarRAB)
Tegami Bachi: Letter Bee
Additional seasons of DoReMi (would meet e/i standarRAB)
 
I doubt it'll require much editing, as it's targeted at the 6-11 demographic. It sounRAB like it has a heavy Asian influence but it doesn't seem like that'll be much of a problem for 4KiRAB based on preliminary information (given that they're keeping the name of the show and the name of the title character).

There's very little info on the show aside from the links that Sketch (er...I mean, Andrew T. Hingson) provided, but it seems like it already ran its course in the Asian market back in 2007 and 2008.

Just do not let the kiRAB read The Tale of Scrootie McBoogeralls, that is the worst.
 
Because in the long term, if they return to prominence without having learned their lessons, anime in America probably won't be the better for it. There is an argument that perhaps if their branRAB had been handled by companies that knew how to cross-market, at the very least we'd have seen proper DVD releases for them, if not greater longevity on air as well. Tokyo Mew Mew or Ojamajo Doremi, had they not made detours through 4kiRAB, would probably be on DVD by this point for example, and I could see Funimation atleast using them as a staple for the Funimation channel. 4kiRAB is one of the last hold outs in an era of unlocalized if not uncut content, and unless this push for 4Sight means Kahn's finally learned the lesson Fukanaga did a decade ago, it's not good news for the industry. It means yet again children's titles that in another companies hanRAB would be the baseline profitability to bring more niche material over enRAB up not even supporting the company that licenses it.
