4Kids Talkback: The Crossroads of Destiny - The 4Kids Discussion V10

Yeah, I'm a little surprised by this too, since they kept the Post-Duelist Kingdom/Pre-Battle City "Game Arc", though we still don't know if they'll air Waking the Dragons and that is important so we know who Rebecca is (although in the anime, removing the Noah arc does leave us not knowing what Mokuba says in one episode about "an explosion on the way to Battle City" and a flashback at the end).

I guess "at least we're getting it", but really, that's the same thing I had to settle for with Turtles Forever (which, yes, it was ultimately Viacom and not 4Kids, but still). It just...BOTHERS ME that we can't just get these things in their proper aspect ratios.

Rocket Monkeys still exists:

"Rounding out the roster of new shows is Rocket Moneys. The 26x22-minute show is headed to TELETOON's fall 2012 schedule. It features a pair of monkeynauts on an odyssey through outer space."

No mention of 4Kids though.

Sorry. I just saw a few episodes and I'm just saying what I saw.

I didn't think it was a giant editing job, but I'm just noting a few things they might have to edit.

As far as Yu-Gi-Oh! license goes...why wouldn't they want to hold onto it as long as possible? I'm sure they put a decent amount of effort with Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D...the film is about to be released in the UK theatrically and on DVD in May, and then later in July in the US. So I'm sure they're expecting a good chunk of dough from that. Not to mention the fact that's it probably their most popular show streaming online and one of the higher rated shows on TV. Might as well milk it while they can.

Gotta say I'm pretty bummed about them not playing Noah's arc...I definitely like it more than the Back to Battle City saga. But I guess that's what DVDs are for.

Never expected them to take my advice and run Magi-Nation again. No, I'm joking, I highly doubt I was the catalyst, but somebody over there decided to re-acquire it and the rights were probably cheap. It'll hopefully do better than Cubix in the E/I slot.

It's possible that 4Kids sold off the rights to Rocket Monkeys so that it could air on Teletoon for next fall. It really wouldn't fit with their current lineup for Toonzai and they've done little to nothing with the show after they had that little sneak preview a few years ago. I believe that 4Kids did list it as one of their properties a few months ago and it was speculated that they could sell it to another company then as well.

Sweet! 4Kids got the streaming rights? I thought with their CBS block and Jaroo, they'd never give 4Kids the rights back... I mean I thought the whole reason it and Will & Dewitt were dropped and never put online was because Cookie Jar didn't want to lend their shows to a competitor... they still have Skunk Fu! (and brought it back briefly once) because Cartoon Saloon doesn't have either of those.

Kids' WB! times were actually contracted as part of the WB show block, so the WB show times were 7-12, just as CW4Kids typically is. However there was an exception with WB Plus, the founder for the current CW Plus, in that it was able to air the Central feeds from 6- 11 AM so they aired at the same time as the Eastern feeds. The Mountain feeds also aired 6- 11 AM if they were part of WB Plus.

I believe the most flexibility WB allowed with their kids block though was weekdays, were some affiliates aired it weekday mornings, but the block was actually contracted most places for weekday afternoons.

From Cynopsis:

4Kids Entertainment reveals a bit about the upcoming 2011-12 season of its Saturday morning programming block, Toonzai (7a-12p), on The CW. The core of the new season for the boy-targeted Toonzai block, which saw increases of +25% in February 2011 versus the same month last year among K6-11 and Boys 6-11, will feature new episodes of the Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball Z, and Magi-Nation franchises, as well as continuing to feature classic episodes of the Sonic series. While there is no confirmation as of it, the lineup could potentially include the mixed traditional cel and CGI animated series Tai Chi Chasers (39x30), as well as a few other series. 4Kids will also feature some big promotional events for the upcoming season, two of which will be built around franchise milestones, the 10th anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! and the 20th anniversary of Sonic. 4Kids Entertainment represents the rights to Tai Chi Chasers worldwide (excluding Asia), which is a co-production of Japan's Toei Animation and Korean broadcaster KBS (Korean Broadcasting System).

Yeah, I saw that...

I REALLY hate how they kept focusing on the word "NEW!". The "New World Saga" is, if they're referring to the arc name that was used on the DVD sets, the first 13 episodes.

These aren't new by any means. They're over 7 years old, have aired multiple times on both Fox and CW...I think this and referring to the Meterex arc as "new" are all stemming from the fact that 4Kids really does wish they could air some new Sonic material, and we're viewing them pretending that reruns are new for the sake of labeling Sonic X as "new", because they know they'll never be able to afford to fund a fourth season.

It's...actually really sad.

Of course edits will have to be made. I still think it has the chance to be a hit with kids, and given how edited the anime is in comparison to the manga, it would be smarter than trying to market it to the usual otaku crowd.

I Understand that Walmart.com is so far only retail store that annouced the Yu-Gi-Oh Bonds Beyond Time DVD Release, and the other stores Bestbuy and amazon haven't listed them yet. Does anybody know what's up with that? Like are they not carrying it or they simply waiting an OFFICIAL Press Release Statement?:confused::confused:

Digging deeper looks like Breakthrough Entertainment (producer of Jimmy Two-Shoes) is selling Rocket Monkeys. I don't suppose there are two shows called Rocket Monkeys? Weird stuff.

And in even weirder news, Al Kahn is back in business:

Looks like Kahn wants to start ruining childhoods at an earlier age.
