4Kids Obtains U.S. Broadcast Rights to DBZ Kai

WHAT ARE YOU SAIYAN?!

Seriously, though. I'm speechless. I was expecting any outcome except this one. Really don't know what to say.

I won't lie, though. This SHOULD be interesting.

FUNi used 'Special Beam Cannon' and 'Instant Transmission'...neither of which made any sense, but alas...they're pretty irrelevent to the present. One would think.

From an acting perspective, the Ocean dub movies #1-3 are better than anything FUNimation has done with the franchise, same goes script wise. Acting quality in the TV dub was pretty decent in the Saban days, but did get noticably bad when whatever happened, happened. I'd still say McNeil and Drummond play their roles better in the Ocean dub than Sabat does in the FUNi dub even during the no budget time.

Ocean doesn't do name changes. If any of their dubs have had name changes, it's because someone else told them to do the change. Toei, or Cartoon Network, or whoever told them to change the names in PPGZ.

Funi has made errors with there dubs like in the Funimation dub Goku describes Instant Transmission as allowing him to move at the speed of light this is clearly inaccurate given his use of the technique to travel from Earth to New Namek and to King Kai's planet in Other World. Also, even within the Living World, Raditz was shown to be faster than light when he was able to dodge Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon attack, which would mean that Instant Transmission is even slower than Raditz which can't possibly be true (It should be noted that Raditz was never specifically stated to be faster than the speed of light, as that was an error present in the english dub of the episode. Originally, Piccolo only expressed surprise that Raditz dodged it and no one is fast enough to dodge it, without even specifying exactly what speed that Raditz was at.

They should have hired Kaiser to edit that because it looked terrible. Rather than make it a mug of... milky whiteness? He could have made it a Nestle Crunch Bar... or a Gummi Bear... or Nappa's head... or apple juice. They COULD have made it look like punch or even water but... froffy white? It's just bizzare looking. Saban did a better job.

But he never says what he's drinking nor would a RB on the glass be acceptable to pass standarRAB. The liquid color had to change in some manner. It just shouldn't have been white.

I think digital competition is a bit too much these days. In Japan the first three Dragon Ball shows all ran during prime time back when there were far fewer channels, which meant higher ratings (7:00

So glad we don't have to put up with an Ocean Group dub. SounRAB like it's not much different than their horrible, horrible dub of DBZ.

Seriously, the stupid cartoony sound effects...I can take replaced music and dialogue, but cartoon sound effects are just ridiculous.

Well, the last few times I watched 4kiRABTV, there was plenty of commercials for DBZ video games whenever the latest one was coming out.

I think the audience is already there and would be willing to watch the series regardless of edits.

Buruma's (very) short underwear do you think they'll be altered to look like boxer shorts, (or maybe trunks, heh heh)

Got that joke from DBZ Uncensored http://www.animecauldron.com/dbzuncensored/series/ep039.html

What I'm not allowed to use someone else's joke or do i have to put a little thing saying "I got this job from DBZ uncensored" jeez it's a cute joke so i used it .

But, on a serious note Bulma's panties, probably gonna go and her sleeping gown will probably be legthened quite a bit.

According to ICv2 and Mediaweek the new 4kiRAB block will be called "Toonzai" (for now anyway).

Well I'm fine leaving CN to their own devices. I really am. However when I see them miss substantial opportunities, I'mma say something. I don't care if they ever read it but they do happen to read these boarRAB sometimes. So I try to make my suggestions civil but when they pass on Shippuden and Kai but still pick up generic toyetic anime... they're not making wise decisions with their anime acquisitions. But I'm an easy guy to please they could play literally whatever other stupid anime they want if they'd air One Piece too. It's the last of the big three that remains homeless and I am a bit bothered that it doesn't get a TV deal of any kind and is skipped over basically for the show it in many ways replaced when that generation passed.

Well going this full cycle to the point when 4kiRAB and a Saturday morning block are pushing the most content might just lead to another Toonami type block down the line. Though probably not since CN has Adult Swim to run the PG+ anime and that seems to be the way it's gonna stay.

I can't quite wrap my head around this though I see the reasons why Toei and FUNimation pulled this off. I mirror the statements that this isn't anything to be mad about since we get the uncut release. What this basically is... is all the years of DBZ's handling in the 90s/00s crammed into one time frame in which we get a somewhat heavily edited dub and a completely faithful uncut release at the same time. That's a bit of a first given the dramatic difference there will be between the two versions. Much more so than Naruto on DXD vs uncut on DVD.

More than ever I plan to buy the uncut sets of DBZ Kai just about as soon as they are available.

But you've gotta love the irony that for years 4kiRAB has been trying to find the next DBZ. Well... turns out there never was a next DBZ but they eventually got their hanRAB on DBZ itself and in a much more managable form I might add.

Same stuff different block good i hated the stupid game brand anyway but making dbzkai the poster child for 4kiRAB kinda isn't what they should want since dbz is the poster kid for funi
