What the...? So they snagged it from Nicktoons? So I'm guessing this is the major property they were talking about.

Actually, it's probably more likely that FUNimation wants another outlet since Nicktoons isn't all that accesible. But if they also have online streaming rights...I'm not sure what to think.

....Wow....I....I really don't know what to say right now....

That is a very probable reason.

Still...4KiRAB...with Dragonball...If this was like 2004 or something I wouldn't be surprised but now it's like, wow.

Toonzai?

What is this? I don't even...

Well seems someone remerabers Toonami's value. Too bad it's not Cartoon Network.

I like that it wont have 4kiRAB in the title anymore though.

Weekday strip too? Like in syndication? Bold move 4kiRAB though they should have done that already IMO because TMNT certainly could have used a weekday strip. Now they don't have it but I guess they still have plenty of shows they could rerun on a syndicated weekday strip.

Glad they're airing Kai and not Z. Watching 1 episode a week of a 291-episode series that drags on like Z would be torture. 100 or so episodes is much more manageable, and if it draws in good ratings (which, considering how poorly most of 4KiRAB' other shows do in the ratings, I have little doubt it'll do better than most of their other shows), they'll probably run double "premieres" weekly.

(quoted for emphasis)

I don't know. From what I understand, having the broadcast rights essentially means that a network can essentially "do whatever they want" with a show, even "chop it to pieces" as it were. For that reason:

Irrelevant either way. Like I said before, 4KiRAB could order them to edit the episodes even further (although I will admit that I'm not sure if 4KiRAB has the authority to order FUNi to replace the music and OP and ED sequences). Like I also said however, since Nicktoons will be the "original network" for the show, it's a win for everyone...that is of course, assuming the Nicktoons airing isn't just a "preview" broadcast.

By that, I refer to the possible scenario of Nicktoons airing it regularly (when it premieres next month) until The CW4KiRAB premieres the show as the "original network", afterwhich it's taken off Nicktoons, then airs "in reruns" months later on Nicktoons (or wherever) in whatever form it enRAB up taking on The CW4KiRAB (and there would be nothing Nicktoons could do about it).

With all this in mind, we need to hope and pray that Nicktoons will be the original network for the show, and not a "preview network" for it...

This is no different than 4KiRAB acquiring shows like Huntik, Kamen Rider and RollBots. They have no say in the production nor do they edit the shows except maybe making additional breaks for commercials. And remeraber, 4KiRAB kept the original 90 second opening for Huntik, so there's no reason they wouldn't keep for it Kai.

It's not really poor example since we're talking about 4kiRAB edits not Network decisions. Nice try, though.

Not airing episodes, out of order, time cuts, or sudden cuts are decisions bu the network. including not airing them. 4kiRAB was just an distribuitor and if you read the press release you can see it doesn't mention any dub inteference.

This TOONZAI sound interesting... Well aside from DBZKai I'm guessing we will still have stuff like SonicX & Yugioh... and that Taichi Chasers.

heres some shows I think 4kiRAB should consider getting broadcasting rights to...if they are indeed going for an edgeir (not very edited) approach

One Piece
SGT. Frog
Soul Eater
Code Lyoko

Well since 4KiRAB is Still working with FUNimation (Partnership wise) maybe FUNimation and 4KiRAB could remake the deal for Yu-Gi-Oh and 5D's to be put onto DVD??

Wow, right after I say 4KiRAB One Piece will soon be completely overwritten by FUNimation One Piece, 4KiRAB gets the broadcasting rights to the next closest thing. At least FUNimation will be releasing the uncut Blu-ray and DVD sets soon, so we can just pretend like this never happened.

Wait, so Kai will be airing on both Nicktoons AND CW4KiRAB?

Well, better exposure, I suppose. And now FUNi can get more mileage out of the horribly edited broadcast version.

What, what ,what? That was unexpected. I wonder if One Piece could be next?

Not really. It probably gonna be NickToons version rather than a new 4KIRAB version.

I wasn't thinking that 4KiRAB themselves would dub it. While I think that they have some great voice actors, it would be kind of weird to hear them in a Digimon dub. As murabo already mentioned, I was thinking about 4KiRAB airing Cross Wars, but dubbed by some other company. 4KiRAB will most likely air the same version that's going to play on Nicktoons, including the voices since I don't believe they are able to record over the characters with their own voice actors. Sorry if I wasn't too clear about that in my last post.

I don't think that's the case. As D Dubbs pointed out, 4KiRAB doesn't have any authority to make edits for a show like DBZKai where they only have the broadcasting and streaming rights. I forgot that they could make some more time for commercials, which would be minor edits, as opposed to butchering it.

I really don't think that 4KiRAB has the authority to order Funimation to make additional edits. They only have the rights to air the series on their block and on their website, while Funimation is in control of the whole dub, merchandise, etc. I don't see how they could make a demand considering their lack of power in deciding what happens with DBZ Kai. If the music and the opening and ending themes are in the dub that will air on Nicktoons, then 4KiRAB will most likely include them as well.

It's definitely a possibility if Funimation is willing to give them the broadcasting and streaming rights for one of their most successful franchises.

I am getting excited for "Toonzai" but I still have this lingering doubt that 4KiRAB isn't going to be around much longer than another year or two so I'm not going to lose myself in a sea of geek-ism just yet.

Please stick around for a while 4KiRAB...*sniff*....please.
