It's been a good ride, but after seven seasons and a movie, 4Kids' version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is over.

So, let's talk about the series as a whole. What were your favorite moments? Your least favorite? What was your opinion about the various changes the series went through over the years? What will you remember most and least about this series? All in all, do you feel 4Kids handled the Ninja Turtles property well? Let's hear how you feel about this rendition of the Ninja Turtles.

It was overall one of the better action cartoons of the 2000's.

As a huge fan of the original TMNT cartoon, and having grown up with the original series in the late 80's and 90's, I absolutely loved the 2k3 take on the franchise. It had big shoes to fill, after all the original show lasted 10 seasons and made 193 episodes, so this show had a lot to do to gain acceptance.

The 4kids show adapted some of the better comic book stories that have previous never been used in animation, as well as had a great take on the characters. I am honestly going to miss the 2k3 Turtles as much as the 80's Turtles.

Making Shredder into an Utrom was a big risk, but it played out well. I also loved Oroku Saki being merged with a demon and Cyber Shredder was decent. Karai was well done, and Baxter Stockman was really great in the show. Hun and Bishop were also nice new villains created for this show. I also thought the Foot Clan was handled the best in this series, even compared to the comics.

The show did have some hits and misses, and it is a shame the last two seasons were toned down from the first five, but overall I enjoyed it from start to finish. Here's hoping the new Nick TMNT show in 2012 turns out to be even better.

I have hope Nick will treat the franchise well.

With out a doubt this is the single best thing 4kids created, say what you will about them they were the right people for the Turtles. I know WB almost made a Turtles show of their own (Images exist for it) but given they buy shows in 13 episode seasons the show would only have been half the size of the 4kids show. So in that sense I'm happy 4kids got it.

This was also one of the final great Saturday morning cartoons one of the best to come out of the dark final years of that part of history.

Now 4kids Still has the airing rights for most of 2010 and there is still one more thing 4kids could do with the show. They could air "Insane in the Membrane" on TV for the first time. Since it was Fox that prevented that episode from airing and the CW might not stand in their way.

I enjoyed this series. It had much better writing then the 80's show. Decent animation, numerous plot twists (Shreder as an Utrom? Who knew?), plus for a 4Kids show, it had a decent voice cast (but then again, they hired the same voice director from the first series, who BTW also worked on Beast Wars as a Voice Director/actor. A little bit of trivia for you all)

Well yeah the crew for the show especially for the first four seasons was top notch. What with writers from shows like Batman TAS and Gargoyles making scripts.

This show had a great run, and is one of my favoirte cartoons, but it feels like the show left some loose ends, like what happened to Serling, whats the deal with that street war we saw it Tempus Fugit, and what ever happened to those evil turtles in the future?

That's writers for you. They like to leave you hanging. Quite frankly, I would've liked to see that Shredder War, but apparently, 4Kids had different plans. At least we would've known how the Utrom Shredder came back from his banishment.

As for that Turtles Forever movie, it was good, but I do wish they didn't knock the 1980s turtles being so laid-back. It's just a good thing that 1980 Shredder didn't get the Tengu Shredder, otherwise, things would've been worse than they were

Well, there's always bound to be some loose ends in a long-running series like this. But it seems like TMNT 2K3 was actually very good at tying up major (and even minor) plot points. So when a loose end does come up, it's just made more noticeable.

Um...what I can I reminisce about? My reminiscing is more like a confession...the only 2K3 episodes I've seen are the first 20 episodes and Turtles Forever. I know a lot about the series just from reading the discussion on these forums. But I do plan to watch the series on DVD and also online at 4KidsTV.com (for the episodes that I can't find on DVD) before 4Kids loses streaming rights. Should make for a good way to pass the summer.

Well i have watch all the episode in tell season 7 an i love the show have not watch the movie but the show i will remember not so much the 80-90s version but i love the way 4kids made the show an if u do't like 4kids u can say this is one show they did well.

I'm sure I'll check out Nick's series to see if it's any good. But I really think that the 4Kids series will be the definitive one for me. It's the version of the Turtles I had wanted ever since the original cartoon ended.

The 4Kids series definitely wasn't perfect, but it was very very good. It had the darkness that I'd always wanted in the TMNT cartoon. I think what I probably liked the most about it was its continuity. Every episode seem to build upon each other. The majority of the episodes weren't just stand-alone episodes. It just made each episode more important, and for me more fun to watch.

It seems to be forever casted as an underrated/ignored cartoon, but I enjoyed it and so did a number of people. The crew put a lot of care into building up this version of TMNT, since they seemed to remain accurate to the Mirage comics until the last few seasons. Even then, I kind of enjoyed them because it was still the same characters we knew, just in a different setting.

I also agree it had 4kids VAs at their best. Everyone sounded a lot more natural on this show, at least after the first season. I especially liked Shredder's voice. He sounded both demonic and mesmorizing at the same time. It's too bad Oroku Saki wasn't used after the first 2 seasons. He made for a good counterpart.

I have to give 4kids credit where credit is due! TMNT 2k3 was fantastic and very well done! I really liked the voice cast too. It was nice to see a series was that more closer to the comic despite being a big fan of the original 80's cartoon.

The episodes before Flash Forward and Back to the Sewers were the best. I thought Flash Forwards was the worst out of the series with Back to the Sewer being slightly better.

I'm really looking forward to what Nick will have in store come 2012.

Aside from Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Sonic X, TMNT 2k3 was a good show for 4Kids's library of shows, in fact, i enjoyed the first season of 2k3, and it was the best i've seen. let's hope that Nick's version is good or not...

It's been a good run...

End Point. :general:

As much as I love the original cartoon, I have to say that this is the superior cartoon. It had better development, better animation, and the better story. The only thing I can think of that it didn't have over the old show is the music. But that's because 4Kids did it and I hate their music.

(Also the old show had Turtles In Time)

I watched the show up until Exodus. Not sure why I stopped. I'm sure I won't touch Fast Forward & BTTS. But since Turtles Forever, I started watching the show again starting from the beginning.

Personally, this is my favorite Turtles cartoon for now. Sure while I like the 80's toon, the 2k3 series is as close to the comics as we're going to get. I personally like the art, the animation, the voices, the story, and the character development. I even like Fast Forward and Back to the Sewers, no matter how lame the idea was.

I never cared for TMNT on FOX BOX/4 KIDS TV or CW 4 Kids, but I guess Veronica Taylor (original Ash Ketchum voice on Pokemon from 1998 to 2006) did fine voicing April 'O Neil.

I don't know why you wouldn't. While those seasons were a step-down from the previous 5, they're still enjoyable and part of the shows continuity.

People "act" as if those seasons are some alternate spinoff, whereas they're all in deep continuity with the first 5 seasons. Its like saying TNBA isn't worth watching simply because the designs are different than B:TAS.

Furthermore, "It's not canon" isn't a good reason to dislike a series. Every series doesn't have to be connected to the franchise in order to be enjoyable. A series can take place in an AU (Alternate Universe) and still be entertaining.
