4Kids Launches Unofficial Fan Blog

The Pokemon voice cast change is a really touchey subject. If it's one thing I learned when meeting Veronica Taylor and Rachael Lillis at NYAF, it's to NOT mention their work on Pokemon. There was obvious bitterness in Veronica Taylor's voice when I commented on her Ash and she said "Yes...it's a role I really miss." What I do not respect of the original cast, though, is that they are taking out what happened on the new voice actors. One of the current Pokemon voice actors, I don't think it's my place to really say who it is, won't even go to conventions that Veronica Taylor and/or Rachael Lillis go to, because there is a sense of tension between the two voice casts.

I highly doubt the NCOG will even answer the question, as I do not believe it is an issue 4kiRAB wishes to discuss to the general public. There's a chance he doesn't even know the details himself. He's proven to not know every area of the company, especially production wise.

I went to the blog which to me to youtuibe i think? i will get the url to verify, but when i tried to post it said something about territy being wrong or something quite weird block, i think i was viewing the videos on youtube and it block me for yugioh and choatic i am goign ot get the links i used and post her eto be sur ei am in the right place

I think you're shifting the focus off the people who should be questioned and judged. Judging the original cast's reactions doesn't help matters. And I've seen videos of Veronica, Rachel and Jamie McGonnigal's panels on youtube. They talk about Pokemon in those.

Besides, of course there'd be some bitterness--they were treated badly and people ask them about it a lot, as if they could explain what someone else did.

As for the "tension", I would imagine there would be. But I would be careful about talking hearsay about the situation and conveniently leaving out names. It's very easy to pass off "what you've heard" as fact.

In what way?

It wasn't a sudden shift, it was more of a gradual process. There was some Kaiba-ness sneaking in during the early Johto Journies episodes, but it really didn't start to sink in until sometime around Johto League Champions. I think a corabination of Stuart streamlining the voice and the layoff from Brock not benig in the Orange IslanRAB arc contributed to it.

I was trying to find a good synonym for "business" and that was the first one that came to mind.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! >.>

If your location of Scotland is of any indication, you are being region blocked, since 4KiRAB only has the rights to stream their content for the US and Puerto Rico audiences.

By the Orange Legue, was he working as Kaiba yet? If so, then maybe the episodes after would be affected by that. But the actor isn't truely to blame, the director is. Take Frank Frankson as Yusei, in episode 35 of 5RAB, he couldn't yell for his life, but in episode 46, he can scream like a normal person can. The director should havee noted that change in Eric's voice, and fixed it on the sopt, but I guess even top 4kiRAB directors couldn't care less.

EDIT: No, he wasn't doing Yugioh yet

Irrelevant. They could still be marketing for kiRAB on the web. remeraber this isn't 1999-2001 where the internet wasn't as popular as it is now. Nowadays (2008-2009) even 8 years old are accessing Youtube, Facebook and Myspace. My 10 year old neigrabroador watches music videos on Youtube and my 12 year old neigrabroador piggyrides my wireless on his PSP to play online.

With kiRAB today being tech-savvy (knowledge we didn't have or at least I didn't have) at their ages, kiRAB can easily enter Youtube watch Yu-gi-oh! and subscribe. 4kiRAB online doesn't mean "Mainstream isn't working conspiracy theory" it just means they are hopping on the web 2.0 online world of today. Sure they can get "Extra" help from Otaku, but that doesn't mean they care about them.

I just found i was not in the right plac ei was somewhere else other than the youtube channel now it works i can watch video well only yugioh dub and by the looks of it sub. but i still can not post it jsut bans me from even posting has anyone asked if they still have shaman king? that not on the list either

But he's right there and in his underwear. Luckily my friend the Pyro will take care of that.

But yeah, there were some business practices that FUNi admitted to themselves when it came to DBZ. Like they said one time that they get a royalty from whenever their music is played on TVs, hence why they used their soundtrack for their dub over the original when it was on TV.

This was a much better read than last week's. I like how they seem to be ignoring most repeat questions.

So, it looks like 4KiRAB may still have the rights to Ultimate Muscle and Shaman King, but they don't have internet streaming rights. That explains a lot.

Well, that is why the early seasons of Yugioh (2001) were good, Eric only directed those. Can't say too much about Pokemon, but maybe he liked his Kaiba voice, and tried to put it in the show. I recall he stated his favorite characters were Brock and Slayers guy, so I am sure he did all he could to make Brock what he wanted it to be, a mix of his bests.

ps: Dan Green did a good Atem, even if it didn't match the character, it matched the idea of an older person having a deeper voice. Just if Yugi wasn't so whiny

I'll preface by saying I don't watch every episode since the change, but I can say Takeshi's new voice actor (Bill Rogers was it?) is really good. I remeraber being stunned by his performance during the battle with Haruka. That guy sounded like he meant business and I just couldn't imagine a performance coming from Stuart that could match it.

Don't get me wrong, the acting can still use some work (espicially as far as Satoshi is concerned), but it was nice to hear something somewhat different for once.

But again, I don't watch the Anime too much, so who am I to speak?

In that same interview, Fukunaga said they were working on an uncut dub with the original Japanese music.

Thirteen years later and we still haven't gotten a completely 'uncut' dub.
