So I never got my HS diploma because my family moved around ALOT - so I ended up getting my GED. The navy told me I needed 15 college credits, so I went to community college and I got those done. Then I went to take the asvab and scored 49 - but my recruiter told me for GED applicants it needs to meet 50 or above.
I have to wait another month to retake it, but my situation at home is not good, and they want me to go to the army instead.
My recruiter is a jackass, he doesn't care about me, my scores, or anything. He did not even try to reschedule the asvab or let me understand the scores I did badly on.
Point is, I am now looking into the army, since my score meets those requirements.
I guess my question is.. is there no way I can get into the navy with a 49? Is there no-one who can pull strings for me? I really cant afford to wait another month.. but that's for another question some other time.
and, what is better? army or navy? and why?
