...Are you fed up of reading STAND2's police rants? If you hav'nt seen them check him out. They are so boring and full of shite. It is clear to read that he has no respect for the police or the difficult job they do. Made even more dufficult by this government. He never mentions the good work they do. Can I suggest we all send him to ..... COVENTRY!!!!
Joan - I appreciate that you had a negative experience of the police. STAND2 may also have had a negative experience of the police too. That does not make the rest of us useless. That does not mean it is ok to generalise about the police. I have had poor service from many quarters but am not stupid enough to slate the profession. The majority of cops are hardworking and effective and resent idiots like STAND2 telling us otherwise. In 20 years of my working life (12 as a cop) I have never had a day off sick. How many people can say that? Likewise in 12 years as a cop I have always had the most arrests and been the most productive on my respective teams. I care for what I do and can honestly say I give value for money. I am not naive enough to think that there are not cops out there who are lazy and useless. Yes, they do exist and as I have said before I have met and worked with some of them. I have not met any bent coppers (I would be the first to shop them).
We need the government to undo the shackles that restrain us and get rid of the useless red tape.
Sorry to anyone from Coventry. I have nothing against Coventry, its just a saying!!!!
Gunther - I do appreciate your point and what you are saying. That said I don't suffer fools and tell people how it is. I will happily tell people to their face what I think. Whether that be at work or on Yahoo.
Joan - I hav'nt finished with you yet! "Leave STAND alone". He is a big boy and can speak for himself. Funny thing is he never enters into debate. His way is to shout and swear. Hardly the facets of an intelligent man!! You may have noticed that I no longer bother answering his rubbish, because it is just that. I also don't advertise my e-mail address because I can do without abuse from him or any of the other countless idiots that frequent Yahoo answers. Despite the fact that I think he is an idiot I will not block him. He is entitled to say what he wants regardless of what I think. Whether I agree with it or not is another matter. I honestly think he thrives off cops answering his questions (rants) so he can fire off his abuse at them. He never discloses why he is anti-police. I make no apology either for saying that you have spoken his language. You have in the not too recent past generalised and (in my opinion) sucked up to him.

Bring me sunshine - How true is your reply. Where did you find out? I would be interested to know if STAND2 was a prospective councillor.
Joan - I didn't say it was just STAND that has a go at the police. The police are a public service and therefore anyone is entitled to say what they want. That said all STAND does is reads the Manchester Evening News and picks out all the negative stories. I have seen many positive stories in that paper, which he clearly dismisses, because they are positive and show the police in a good light.
 
well just read all answers to your question. I also do not know why people on yahoo or anywhere else rant and rave about police all the time. I believe that some people have had bad runnings with the police either getting caught doing something they shouldn't have or maybe just bad luck with them.
I believe there is only so much the police can do when investigations start and as to the prosecuting of crI'minals (please correct me if im wrong) is this not down to the crown prosecution to do this and from my experience it is the crown prosecution that mess up the hard work the police do with a case. I have had dealings with them and the police have been more upfront then our prosecution services .
Everyone at some point of their life's need to call for help.
It does make me wonder when i read on here about anyone ranting about who ever for what ever reason.
Let them carry on we all have our own opinions on all you cops
 
Come on Bear it's not just Strand2 who has a "go" at the Police. You wouldn't like it if we sent you to Coventry, or any where else. I have never broken the law in my life, but the way I have been treated by the Police is nothing short of appalling. I made the complaint along with the Coroner to the Police regarding 80+ forged cremation documents, after 28 months of "investigating" they made a complete botch up of the investigation and it was thrown out by the CPS. Is it any wonder people get angry. To top it all the Officers involved blatantly lied to the Professional Standards Department, who I might add are not too clever themselves as you well know. The CID Officer who was the last person to handle the case was given a hot potato and when it went pear shaped through no fault of his he was gutted. So yes there are some decent guys and I did write to the Chief Constable saying this guy was a credit to the Police Force. You have always been decent to me, but I think you decent guys are few and far between. If you allowed email I would send you the paperwork and I think you would be shocked. Is it any wonder the public are losing respect for the Police. If you want to call this a rant and a load of sh..e then so be it. You can see I haven't lost my voice and I don't talk Stand language as you said previously. Leave Stand alone, if you don't like his questions then don't read them. I notice you answer most of them. Sorry Bear finished now lol.
 
I don't know who "stand2" is, but come on. Police aren't drafted; they CHOSE their job, so they need to do it and do it right without expecting everyone to kiss the ground that they walk on just for doing what they're being paid to do. I appreciate the good cops, but I'm not naiive enough to think that they're all good.
