4700 series receiver and 37" LCD TV questions?

Hiya...

I'm considering buying a 37" LCD TV to connect to my 4700 series receiver. Now, I realize I won't have HD until I upgrade my receiver, dish, and programming, but I have a couple of questions.

First, how good is the SD signal from BEV, especially in "comparison" to a 25" CRT? I know this is a personal taste question, but I'm just a little curious. Secondly, is there a problem getting 16:9 aspect ratio with the 4700 series receiver? I really don't want those annoying side bands...

Thanks in advance...

Dave

A 25" CRT.......... let me guess; it's an RCA or GE? With rounded corners?

The general rule is CRTs often don't show the flaws in the signal like an LCD. However my experience with those older 25" TVs is the LCD might actually be a bit of an upgrade. However when I went HD I bought an HD receiver first, then got my HDTV.

So my bottom line is that while I usually tell people to get their HD box at the same time or even before, I think you will be OK with the picture quality. Just be sure to use S-video.
