44 with acne

Hi all I am a 44 year old female. I never really had a problem with acne when I was younger. Lately I have been breaking out on my chin and sides of mouth. I keep my face clean with acne wash but still am breaking out. Some spots seem scaly like. Any suggestions?

Ditto here. I am 48. Began to get nearly constant cysts on my chin about a year ago. After failing topicals and antibiotics, I am now on Accutane. After one month, no more cysts!

Acne that is located around the mouth is generally linked to hormonal changes. Have you considered going on birth control? This can elevate your estrogen levels and help control your acne.
