yeah werd

the government doesn't bounce checks and pays on time

the tenants are usually decent too because if they fuck up, they get kicked out of the program for life

oh i'm sure. i can't imagine how angry it makes every single person within a 5 mile radius

just applied even though I make over 5x the minimum income for a 1 person household. will bitch on the phone about it being unfair for those above the limit when they call me.

i work at a seafood store in the hood, and beginning of the month, every month...people are buying massive amounts of alaskan king crab legs ($16.99/lb), snow crab legs ($6.99/lb) and just generally "living it up" on food stamps.

Where I'm going is that I'd like to see the numbers adjusted for population, you faggot. I didn't say anything was anybody's fault.

the idea behind the program is fine

the way it is executed removes the tax payers and the beneficiaries and inserts a faceless bureaucracy that doesn't care about either of those parties and doesn't care about fraud committed with its funds

if we went back to assistance programs like before the 1960s were you went to city hall and they helped you pay your rent once and gave you donated food we'd be in a much better place.

Sucks because a lot of those kids are probably still salvageable right now, but in the next couple years they'll either be in gangs or dead.

I'm all for drug testing people to be on welfare.

Someone else (Hobie?) posted about his grandma doctor-shopping and getting multiple pain med scripts. I just heard that Wisconsin is applying for federal funding for a voluntary program that allows doctors to see how many pain scripts someone has filled that month/year. That way, you can't go see 12 different doctors about your low back pain every week and then go sell yer Oxycottons for $50/pill.

I was surprised that in the sketchy neighborhoods, the residents would get their grocerys from some dumpy liquor convenience store around the corner that jacked up all their prices. $2.99 for a 1/2 gal of milk that expires in a week? fuuu

Farm it out to an outside company. Give the private sector a chance to do this shit and it could easily be done. Let a government agency try and do it and it will get fucked up for sure.
