It's reduced the judgment and shame of honest people who use them. They don't get this look anymore, at least here where I live. .
When I worked at Big Y, you could always tell who was abusing the system and who wasn't. Those with small amounts of healthy foods, like fruit, vegetables, and basic foods (Sometimes pre-prepared from the frozen food section or deli if they're too disabled to cook), and those with a massive shopping cart filled with sugar snacks, expensive lobster, seafoods, soda, ice cream, and other shit.
Then you had the low-income moms with babies. Honest folks bought the quality baby formula and their clothing wasn't lavish. Trash folks had nothing suitable for a baby to eat and usually wore Tommy Hill, Timberlands, and other ghetto gear. They usually smelled like cigarettes and alcohol too and they had 3-5 kids lingering behind them crying, stomping their feet, and throwing temper tantrums. Then, to solidify their dishonesty, they'd walk out and get into a car that just happened to park directly in the no-parking fire lane that was usually a Lexus, Maxima, or Infinity with 18 or 19 inch chrome rims. If the window was down the driver usually was wearing no less than 4 or 5 gold chains.
