I remember when I was a little kid and families from my school would adopt a family from this other school and give them Christmas presents and shit...so my mom and I go over there to deliver the shit we bought them, they have a big screen TV and a brand new fucking N64. I was so pissed because my mom told me that we didn't have the money for video games.
 
see thats just it, the fraud is so widespread, around here the stores in the hood give you like 50c on the dollar for yo food stamps so you can buy crack and wild irish rose ITS ALL A SCAM
 
it should be phased out, corrupt or not. There should be large tax breaks given to people who donate to charitable organizations. I've done work with some of the local homeless shelter type places and you should see how they can stretch a dollar and make sure every penny of it goes to something worthwhile.

The government will always fuck things like this up.

But at the very least, we should be kicking people off of government assistance that can't pass a drug test, and there should only be specific items people should be able to buy with their food stamps.
 
We actually had a sponsorship deal with Nike, gave us balls, bags, and cleats for each kid. A week later, half the team is showing up without cleats, parents sold 'em.

the housing shit kills me. They outright DISCOURAGE you from doing better. If you make too much money then they cut you off, and it's usually not at a range where you can afford to pay the normal rent for the same apartment with your piddly raise, so people either wind up just working less hours or if they get a raise they'll fucking quit their job so they don't get kicked out It's a really fucked up situation.

They also need a zero tolerance policy with dealing drugs if you're on ANY kind of govt. assistance. If you get caught dealing, you and anyone in the house needs to be disqualified from getting assistance.
 
It was probably just the region/people. Rita and Ike weren't bad at all out here. Hell, I was still posting here during Ike until the servers went down.
 
My grandmother on my mom's side is a complete piece of shit. She walked out on her family of FOUR when my mother was 4, her twin obviously also 4, brother 3, and brother 1 to go be a hippie in San Francisco. My Mom tracked her down about twenty years later to develop a relationship with her and has been talking to her ever since.

My grandmother was in a hit and run and had to have surgery to remove bone fragments near her spine a few years ago. She's had severe back problems since and is on permanent disability. She doctor shops and gets multiple 'scripts for all kinds of pain meds which she sells to all her ex-hippie crackhead friends. Government pays her and supplies her with drugs which she then sells. Yeah, I remember seeing this all the time in my teens as a cashier.

What really threw me for a loop was when my friend's older sister came by and used them. She was a school bus driver, and her husband worked for Hewlett Packard(not a janitor). One of their three kids was from her previous marriage, and she was getting child support for him. Why are they using food stamps??
