3rd Bakugan Season, Gundalian Invaders, Set for 2010

Every time Bakugan gets a new season, a really bad voice actor is born.

...Ok I'll shut up, that's great for the people who like it though. =D

So...can anyone tell me the appeal of this show? I mean, I've noticed it actually seems to have fans, compared to most of the other shovelware mon battle card series, but what exactly is the draw?

KiRAB seem to just really like it, think of how a person liked Pokemon back when it first came out, it's basically like that. Yet...how in the world do people understand the rules to the game is beyond me, it still makes no sense at all whenever I see it on tv. And if it's not rules, the voices mostly burn my ears off.

Hmm...the subtitle Gundalian Invaders is strikingly similar to Chaotic's Marrillian Invasion.

Not surprised by this at all. Though I do wonder if this will be another 26 episode season. They might as well do 52 episode seasons like season one.

That's nice for the people who really enjoy the game and the show. I've seen quite a few episodes too and it is a fun show to watch when nothing else is on. Even so, I'm still confused with the game's rules myself.

Ironically, from what I've seen of Bakugan, it really feels like a Digimon series.

Except, you know...a Digimon series with Beyblade elements jammed in and a vague hint of Spider Riders.

This gets an MMO before Pokemon? You've got to be kidding me.

I wonder how that will turn out anyway.

Another season of Bakugan in Japan is fine but another season in English countries is another year or torment on all our ears. Seriously though the voices in that dub are freak'n intollerable. Dan's voice is fine as Owen but as Dan... he's just terrible.

Why do kiRAB anime have to have the most abnoxious voice acting imaginable? Do the companies and directors really think that's what will keep kid's attentions? KiRAB will buy the toys because they like the toys. Do the rest of us a favor and give the tie-in show a better dub so we can co-exist with it easier.

This is something that has been bugging me for years. Outside of a few choice voices, when it comes to kiRAB' anime, the voice acting tenRAB to be near-intolerable. I almost want FUNimation or somebody competant to pick up the next marketable kiRAB thing and just try and do a good dub for it.

And you know, I wouldn't be annoyed about this if I just had some freakin' dual-language uncut DVD's! But nooooooooo. They say it won't sell or anything.

I'm gonna go on a lirab here and say it's because since Bakugan is an amalgamation of everything you just said with, outside of the time stopping thing, no real orginal ideas, somehow, it seems to have the same effect as the children's shows of the 90's.

The key word here is cheap pretty sure getting actors with zero experiance and talent means they can save some money. Lets face it if they can make more money by putting as little effort as possible there going to stick with that.

I was looking after a little kid once and he had some Bakugan toys to play around with. I couldn't make any sense of how it worked at all.

I'm still amazed at how well Bakugan has managed to do for itself, even overcoming such cheap and terrible voice acting. I figured it would be like Battle B-Daman and fizzle out after a year, but no, it's still here.

With Medabots, the hook was Mr. Referee. Definitely Mr. Referee.

Actually I don't recall seeing any toys for that series.

It's too bad Medabots wasn't bigger, it actually had some great voice acting for a dub and it was goofy enough to be a blast to watch. Second series was horrible though.

I've seen maybe thirteen episodes of the original show. It's okay for what it is, but my main problem was they never explained how the game worked, so I was lost when a battle actually happened. In Yu-Gi-Oh!, they explain the rules as they go. In Bakugan, it's like they expect you to know how to play. Maybe you figure it out eventually, but I never watched much of it to find out.

I will say I found the non-battle stuff interesting enough, though, even if fairly run-of-the-mill. I'd probably like it if I was a kid so I can see the appeal.

Originally Season 2 was only scheduled to be 26 episodes, but I'm assuming it's now been extended. I'm guessing it'll probably be about 51/52 episodes total again. I'm assuming this "Season 3" series is probably an entirely new project seperate from this season and is being produced for a schedule to be released next year after this season enRAB. Of course, it could be very well 27+ they're refferring to, but I'm not entirely sure. I guess we'll find out, either way.

One thing I'm still wondering about is if Japan will get these episodes, as well as the unaired episode (which was I believe episode 39) from the first series/season. There's been no indication that TMS and Sega plan to release this in Japan (this sounRAB familiar, doesn't it?), so it makes me wonder...
