3GS originally (3.1.3 5.11.07) jailbroken w/t SPIRIT, restored to 4.0 emergency only

Hi all,
I recently bought Iphone 3gs frm CANADA (3.1.3 5.11.07), jailbroke it with SPIRIT... was unlocking using blacksn0w i think... it got hanged while the process was about to end... and when I rebooted it, it showed apple logo only and couldnt go into the main menu screen,,,, so out of frustration or my impatience, I restored it using itunes with OS 4.0 firmware... now it shows emergency calls only and iTunes doesn't recognize my SIM as I dont have an official carrier's SIM (I am in India). So basically it has been restored to factory settings and is currently inactivated. How can I jailbreak and activate it ?? Any help would be much appreciated.... is there any other easy option for eg hardware unlock ??

bro you have to restore it again with itune software , or use ireb to take out from recovery mode -- download ireb from HERE

actually I had upgraded my iphone unknowingly using itunes (restore + upgrade via apple website to OS4.0 , BB might be latest, but it seems bootrom is old one as ID doesn't start with MC). I was hoping that iPhone will at least remain activated. It is showing emergency calls only and prompting to put valid sim... I have tried almost all the tools available (except Pwnage for Mac which I will use on Monday). I have used redsnow, iReb, blackrain, but either these tools are crashing (blackrain) or showing error (1604 160 1601 3194) while restoring custom firmware (redsnow/blacksnow).. I also tried ziphone... it just doesnt work and shows under progress status. I dont have SHSH stored on cydia server (i didnt chose"make my life easy" option while trying to unlock). Also I tired to bypass Apple server by changing windows system 32 "host" file. May be I am not using iREB correctly, so pls guide me with that. iReb doesnt have 3GS device option like other options (3g 2g etc). Please guide me if anyone has faced similar problem and solved it.

Having same problem - 3.1.3 otb with 5.12.x.
This could be jb with spirit but no way to upgrade to 4.0 - 16xx errors.
As far as i see the problem is in the iBoot - they have no exploit for it.
So i appreciate devteam's job, but they should post in their blog such info.
Instead claiming for the clory they say - we made the jb, but the glory comes when people try it and it does not work on 70% of phones
SO 30% glory goes to the dev team

And the actual sentence -they are LAMERS.
If any of professional guys from our GSM hacking community would take a challenge - the iphone would be cracked properly.
But due to cintinious free "releases" nobody has interesnt in hacking it.

So the professionality of the dev team is shown with their lame unlock solutions.

1. You must activated you phone with original sim card O2 or Vodafone or waiting newer redsn0w or you can buy oneSIM - oneSIM - it can only be one

2. After activated, you can jailbrake with spirit and install ultrasn0w 0.9.3 to unlock from cydia

3. You can use your phone with any sim card
 
i waited a long time for the jailbreak for iphone 3.1.3 BB 5.12.1 from the dev team but while i was waiting i read all their poast on twitter on what to do and what not to do before they release the exploit.......and certainly thay said we must not upgrade our 3gs to 4.0 because there will be problem i unlock 3 3gs and 1 3g on 3.1.3 BB 5.12.1 successfully......if you was doing the same thing as me then you wouldnt be in such s_h_i_t.......so dont be putting the DEV-TEAM in your toilet you s_h_i_t in your own house you clean it

It is not possible to use original sim as I had bought iphone from CANADA and i am in INDIA. I can wait till new release of redsn0w.. any idea how much time it will take.... and I did not know abt oneSIM, can I activate successfully using it ? has anyone tried it ? Cant see the price on oneSIM website.. anyone has any idea abt this thing ?

Can I use spirit with OS 4.0 ?? you said i can use spirit after activation.

Has anyone tried to JB OS 4.0 with PwbageTool (MAC) ??
 
hey buddy. same boat. went on vacation in europe.. restored.. now owned.

apple's activation process determines which isp you are using, therefore the country, therefore the XYZ possible iphone carriers in that country, and if your sim doesnt match up you not able to activate, even if its the correct sim for that locked phone.

you need to use a canadian system level proxy. I am just looking around for one as well. for the americans they have anchorfree.com's hotspotshield..

wanna split a paid proxy? lol
 
do NOT pay for an unlocking service, they are ALL garbage. clone sims as bolutic suggests will only mimic the sim you already have.. apples activation is server side auth..

have you tried downgrading to a hacktivated 3.1.3? I have, and It didnt work - that would negate this proxy business/whole activation hassle.
 
Do I have to buy these cards ? can I convert a non working sim card into setool/magic card ?? thanks for your suggestion. It would be helpful if some one could post a detailed process.

But the big question is? i check the model of you're iphone not from canada I just restore my daughter iphone 3G today and it's locked with Roger's activation, program and insert the magic sim used spirit and ultrasnow to jailbreak/unlocked now restored and working great

Hi, I dont have official carrier SIM. I have tried almost all the methods available on net, but kept on getting errors all the time (refer to my first post).. I read somewhere that if with FW=3.1.3 and BB=5.11.07, u use spirit+blacksn0w(or may be ultrasn0w) = wont work, this process will brick your iphone... and same thing happened to me (only if i had know this before).. after that, i stupidly restored my phone via apple website (through itunes ) and now i am having 0S 4.0 BB 5.13.04..... i dont have shsh blobs stored on cydia server... some one mentioned that redsn0w will release new version.. dont know when will that happen... I have not tried to downgrade to hactivated 3.1.3, although i tried to downgrade official 3.1.3... has any one been successful in downgrading to hactivated 3.1.3 ?? if so, i will definitely try that . any links for hactivated 3gs 3.1.3 ?
