3GS on iOS 4.0 & Modem 05.13.04 JB and Unlock

Hey Guys,

first of all thanks everyone for the great site and creative work everybody is doing here! The reason my 3GS is unlocked & JB is due to all the posts i found here.

I am running software 3.13 and modem 05.13.94. I used Spirit to JB and Ultrasn0w for my unlock. Now i would like to update my phone to iOS 4.0, JB & unlock the phone. The other forums say that this isn't possible. However, from reading everything here i think it is possible. Please correct me if i am wrong.

I did a backup before JB with Tiny Umbrella but could only sign my 4.0 SHSH files.

Now do i follow this guide ( Jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4 with Sn0wbreeze 1.7 ) and update my OS to 4.0, JB with Snowbreeze 1.7 as mentioned. Then i have to download Ultrasn0w 0.93 again to unlock my 3GS.

Is this thinking correct, or am i missing something? Can i do this even though i currently run the Spirit JB?

Appreciate the help, as all the posts are getting a bit confusing right now.

Actually, I just updated.

Everything worked fine. I used Sn0wbreeze 1.7 and Ultrasn0w 0.93. Just make sure for everyone that reads this that you are on the old bootrom.
 
Check its bootrom if its old den u cn upgrade wid custom 4.0 .... But if its new bootrom ... No solution for JB ..... Check & doing
