tmobile is getting it!!

yeah I was just reading that also and wanted to know more about it but only see rumors and clouds from 2006, nothing recent other than that link

Is it supposed to launch in just several big markets or nation wide I wonder.

The understanding we were given as dealers was that when it rolled out it would roll out nationwide. They have had the license for around a year or so and have been working on the antennas since they were allowed to (per our reps). Hopefully our information is not incorrect.

easy there, don't get your hopes up just yet. its been known for a while that tmobile was working on releasing 3g (seeing they won bids on the 1700 spectrum). tmobile barely has a decent EDGE coverage area and you can bet their opening 3g area will only be strong in the major metropolitan areas (i.e. dallas, nyc, la, etc.) when it drops. this story just shows a umts capable phone is being released, not a solid date of when the actual network will be launched or what quality it will provide (or even how many future phone releases will work on the 1700 band).

sorry to rain golden showers on the party..

I still am a happy t-mo customer, but they need to stop the juggling act and start breaking out the real razzle dazzle. JUMP A BIKE OVER A SCHOOL BUS OR SOMETHING, TMO!

actually from what i've heard their 3g service s amazing and it's being used and tested in texas. I've heard its fas and the other updates are amazing. I've also heard that mid 2k8 is suppose to be the national rollout. so far all the information i've gotten about t-mobile and 3g from 2k5 has been almost right on. but yeah reason for t-mobile hotspot@home is to cut down the cost of having to put up so many more towers so that they can start wcdma towers and updates to EDGE, from what I understand a lot of the outages customers have been seeing in certain areas were the updates and upgrades being made. we will see what happens though.

ive been in some pretty remote *** areas and my edge worked fine ... though im in seattle... its prolly tmos strongest market... maybe?

TMobiles EDGE network really isnt all that bad, I drove from Detroit to Miami without losing except for in North Carolina when I was driving through the clouds.... but I was with someone that had cingular/ATT and they didnt even have call coverage, and I still did

haha, that's an interesting fluke. if you compare the coverage area map for at&t with tmobiles, at&t has tmo beat, not just in amount of the US it gives coverage to but especially in coverage areas without blackout zones. that's tmo's greatest weakness, imo. in major areas they still have quite a few holes that gets barely (if any) reception and then a mile down the road its all bars.

in my area tmo leases att towers......

i have nothing against att other then how bad they tried to **** me every month for 2 years, then eventually did... i never dropped a call from them that i can recall...

but i have friends who always do. now.
