3g update , no service

Gday all- I have a customer that updated his HARD UNLOCKED 3g to v4. MF 5.13.04
He brought to me with no service, where before update all was ok.
I read through the search threads , and most probs are solved by using 3rd party s/ware [??], so can I repair this handset with standard Apple software/firmwares?? Thanks for any help...
 
Forgot to add, imei , modem firmware ect all shown. Is it possible that the network may not support this latest firmware?? thx
 
I had the same problem,,,bro did u dissable 3G ,,, n did u use unlock soft n restart iphone,,,do these n ur fone will be full signale,,

Great thanks BR- am redoing the update as I suspect it may have not been done correctly the first time , and will try the actions you suggested! CHEEEEEERS
 
Mate u have to jailbreak and unlock it if its not factory unlocked..
tell me if u don't succeed i will tell u the whole procedure ..

can u tell us the whole procedures please .. as i upgrade my iphone 3g to ios 4.0 and after do that . it want to be activated but when to try to jailbrea the redsn0w give me that "unable to recognize the IPSW" so now the iphone id sead and can't downgrade or jailbreak .. so now what's the solution ?????
 
Gday Tom- unit was factory unlocked , but I was told of other issues the phone had AFTER I booked it in! [surprise surprise]. Is a hardware issue...
