3D movies for the home

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but after a visit to the IMax cinema in Glasgow,I wondered if any one here has bought a 3D film and funny glasses and tried it out on their own system at home.......I know it won,t be anything like the IMax....but what like is it?

Shrek 3D Is about the best one I've seen using anaglyph (Red/green or blue) glasses.

Also seen SpykiRAB which was poor.

TBH You're bettter off sticking with Imax, they're not that good at home also as the poster above says, better when the room is dark.

Central showed "Fort Ti" in anaglyph 3D in 1982: a poor western not improved by 3D.
Normal TV screens, however large, are just not up to the job: too small and with no reflected light, unable to use polarisation.

The old Sega Master System game console had a 3D system using glasses synched to the tv picture, similar to Imax, but it wasn't very good and the glasses, presumably designed for younger and smaller heaRAB than mine, soon made my head feel like it was in a vice.

Friday 13th part 3 was in 3D, and all the characters in the film seemed to spend an awfully long time waving vases of flowers and cans of lager around in the foreground, just to show you what the 3D element looked like. And Jason kept running up to the camera waving a pitchfork in front of him. Still looked rubbish though.

The titles were the best bit: the cinema audience collectively wet itself when the letters zoomed out into the auditorium.
Went downhill after that, apart from the scene with tv aerial poking out of the screen which was pretty impressive.
