3D movies are awful

I don't get the fuss about 3D. It doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I see a film for storylines and characters more than anything else. If a movie doesn't have a strong enough plot or characters, I lose interest VERY quickly.

Toy Story 3 is a brilliant brilliant film... But there's absolutely no point in seeing it in 3D... Because you hardly notice it... 3D is just such a waste of time... I find the glasses a complete nuisance... I wear glasses myself... So I have to wear two pairs of glasses to view this shit. Argh!

The reason given is that it's rated 18. If it was a 15 the box office intake would be much larger and the film would have been more successful.

I am old and I still haven't seen one.

What worries me about 3D is that it's changing the profile of multiplex cinemas from wide-choice to narrow-focus. It's becoming harder to find interesting films at the big cinemas because so much real estate is being dedicated to 3D versions of films that are also being shown in 2D. My local arthouse has uncomfortable seats and less than state-of-the-art sound and vision but it's always packed on a weekend because it's showing films that don't get shown at the Vues. That may be great for independent cinemas but it's not doing my back any favours.

My only real issue is the glasses. I wear glasses and although the 3D glasses fit over them the particular spot they rest on my nose tickles incessantly so I have to sit with my finger just lifting the glasses slightly.

No that's correct I'm sure I read there's a horror number one at the Box Office due to Piranha being 3D and more expensive. Probably as many hate 3D too.

I'd settle for a free meal from the curry house on the premises. It's such a brilliant ruse: fill the whole building with a delicious aroma and watch all the punters file out of the cinema and head straight for a table.

It was the funniest excuse I've heard.

So only films aimed at younger people are successful?

Some of the best movies ever made have been 18.

having seen many 3D films lately i personally think what is the point? charge more money for something that is very hit and miss and doesnt particularly enhance the film at all. i hope all this nonsense stops and we can revert back to good old 2D

Historically 3D films have always been quite shite, with obvious scenes forced in just to make use of the 3D (Jaws 3 anyone?)

Avatar in 3D was amazing, but Clash of the Titans in 3D was a joke, becuase it was obviously never intended to be 3D from the start - going back after filming and making the background 3D was just a waste of time, money and effort.
