I am getting induced at 39 weeks because my husband is coming home from Iraq on 2 weeks leave to see the baby be born and he was given only certain dates to be here. So we are planning to be induced so that he can spend a few days with Mom and baby. I am just so thankful that he will be home for the birth and can't wait to see him!
My question is for people that have been induced early.
What takes place? How painful is it? Any advice/suggestions?
If my water doesn't break naturally, they want me in the hospital at 5 AM on the day of induction to get me more dilated and break my water.
When is a good time to ask for an epidural? My sister says I should get it as early as possible because some women wait too long to get one and then they don't feel the effects of an epidural when they go into active labor.
