i posted a thread quite a while ago on this topic, but i cant find it at all.

ive got a nokia 3650, which i loved when it worked. right now, all it does is when i hold the power button to turn it on, it lights up like normal. then flashes the work nokia like it would when it boots, but it goes away within less than half a second. and then does that 4 times. then turns off. ive tried doing a hard reset(holding send, 3, and * keys;also holding send, 3, and write keys). still does the same boot process. when the phone is plugged into the wall, it doesnt even show the icon saying its charging, so i dont know if it charges the battery properly. but i do have a desktop charger, that charges the batteries alone, so i know my battery is full.... any thoughts??

The first thing you should do is try the battery in another compatible phone.

If you have no problems there, then try booting the phone in the 'safe' mode.
Press the edit key till the phone boots up. This prevents the memory card from being read. You should then format your memory card after backing up important data and make sure you install software carefully.

Unfortunately, these first generation S60 phones could not be hard reset while powered off. The only way to hard reset these phones was to use the *#7370# code after boot up.

If nothing works, u might need to take it to a Nokia Care center. What usually happens is that the internal memory gets full for some reason or the other, and the phone cant boot.

or maybe thats a sign that its time for you to get a new smartphone my friend lol...

on serious note, ive had a 3650 when it came out ages out (3-4 years ago lol) and its really dodgy, your best bet is to take it to a NSC.

i dont have a data cable. when i connected it to the computer, i used bluetooth. ive tried booting into safe mode, nothing different, taken the memory card out, still nothing different. tried the battery in my friends 6600(i think thats the model) battery worked fine in his phone, plus ive got 2 batteries for this phone, neither do anything different in the phone. where can i go to find a nokia care center near me??

From the S60 Wiki...

--- WARNING: This will ERASE EVERYTHING on your phone ---

If you have any files that are important to you, make backups.

Make sure you phone is fully charged.
Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card (if possible).
Switch-off your phone.
Press and hold these three keys together:
Green dial key,
Star key (*)
Three key (3)
Press the power on/off to switch on the phone.
Do not let go the three keys until you see the "formatting" screen displayed. After a few minutes, the format will be complete. Your phone will now be at its original factory settings.]

^ if im not mistaken i think this only applies to the NEWER versions of series60, and not v1... but you can also try, there is no harm, but dont worry if it doesnt work, if it doesnt it means it doesnt work on the 3650 platform.
