360 or PS3?

I'm thinking about getting one or the other in a couple months, but WHAT? Neither have a tremendous amount of games for them, and each have maybe 2-3 really notable games. My friend has a 360 already, but that doesn't necessarily mean I don't want to get one for myself. I dunno, convince me one way or the other

PS3 if you want to wait for the good games. The 360 has a robust online service (XBL) with a few great games (GoW, Halo 3 incoming, etc). But I enjoy my PS3 and plan on purchasing a 360 for Haloing purposes.

Go with the 360. If you have broadband and a HDTV then it's a no brainer. Get the 360 Premium and then buy the 360 HD-DVD add-on for HD-DVD movies. If you like to play online then XBox Live is the ONLY way to do it right. Sony has yet to even compete with Microsoft on that level. If I had a HDTV the choice would be easy for me.

if your gonna buy the HD-DVD add on then just by the PS3 after the HD-DVD add on the two systems are the same price and then you have to pay to play online with the xbox 360...its funny how they say the PS3 is so overpriced when they included the blue ray player and microsoft left the HD-DVD player out to make theirs look cheaper

They didn't intentionally leave it out to make the 360 look cheaper. They left it out so GAMERS who don't give a shit about HD-DVD movies didn't have to pay extra for it. People who bought a 360 at launch over a year ago won't have any problems buying the HD-DVD add-on NOW since they've already absorbed the initial cost of the 360 over a year ago. And believe me, the HD-DVD add-on has sold A LOT. Sony made the gamble that their PS3 gamers would start buying Blu-ray movies so they included a Blu-ray player in the PS3. So far that gamble hasn't paid off. HD-DVD is still kicking the shit out of Blu-ray and the PS3 hasn't impacted that at all.

360, no question. Its already got a great library of games. Including Gears of War. Cross-Platform games right now are looking better on the 360. It's cheaper. And Xbox Live blows anything Sony has out of the water....and will continue to do so. The 360 is snatching up PS3 exclusives, and right now looks to have better exclusives in the coming months up it's sleeve. The HD-DVD add on is there if you want it...but is not forced on you if you're not ready to take the HD movie plunge yet.

The PS3 has no games worth purchasing the system for right now. And won't for months. Resistance is a good game, but not $600 good.

I'm waiting to get a PS3.

There is nothing on the 360 that has really caught my eye. I'm not a Halo fanatic...I can wait to play it when my buddy buys it...blah blah blah. Plus the PS3 has BluRay so I don't have to spend any extra money for a blueray player or anything like that down the road either.

and I'm not a sack rider either way...just that I think the PS3 is going to be better in the long run

if you're not getting it for a couple of months, then you don't need to ask this question now other than to stir up trolls. wait till you're ready to shell out the cash and then decide which is better for you.

how so? i said it's stupid to ask this question now. you're not getting a system for a couple of months, so why would you want to make a firm decision now about which one you're going to get? all this thread does is bring in 90% fanboy faggotry and trolling, not to mention there's been about a milion threads comparing the two systems already.

in closing, if you can't make up your mind based off of the evidence that's readily available by looking through a page or two of threads and a quick google search, then this thread here isn't going to do shit for you.
