1968 GMC 1500 with a 327 automatic, everythings stock except for the dual straight exhaust, and a little bit bigger camshaft, I want it to be semi full efficient but be able to really kick you back into your seat when you stomp on the gas. dont have the money for a blower and dont really feel like refueling bottles of nitrous all the time. any ideas?

shorty headers, all synthetic fluids, 600cfm edlebrock carb and change rear to limted slip and more torque gears at take off which is your choice. Also lighten up as much as possible. This will give more torque as HP is enough already and will not make faster.

try doing some head work. I have a 57 chevy with a 327. its pretty mild but it will still move
double hump heads, with a 3 angle valve job
rv cam
30 overbore
and a 600 cfm carb headers, intake
rebuilt the engine for just a few hundred
