3250's browser

My brother's probably going to give me his unlocked 3250, and I'd like to hook it up with T-Mobile. I was wondering, since it has EDGE and all, can I browse real websites on it, or just T-Mobile's watered down WAP?

Thanks!

Yes, there should be no problem with. The Services browser can do this most of the time, although it has problems with some web pages. There should also be a Web browser in the 'My Own folder', if not this can be downloaded from Nokia. There's also the Full Opera browser or Opera Mini which can also be used. Opera mini is well worth downloading. Use your wap brower and go to http://mini.opera.com

So, this extra browser can browse pages the WAP browser can't? Do I need any sort of data plan for this?

Oh, and does it have an e-mail application?

It should do yes. I can't say I've had any problems viewing web pages with Opera or the Nokia Web Browser apart from the inconvenience of screen size. The 3250 has a built in email application or you could buy a third party one like Profimail.

For full web use the one called "WEB" it renders pages beautifully. Honestly nokia's browser is absolutely the best, and I haved used every browser from blackberry to pocket IE to opera. No one can touch nokia's browser. If you need to browse a true "WAP" site you have to use the "services" broswer.

Nice! My parents were going to buy me a Sidekick for Christmas, but my dad's now all about Apple's iPhone that's supposed to come out in January, however I think it's coming out later because they haven't passed anything through the FCC. I think I'll use my brother's 3250 in the meantime. I wish Nokia made a do-it-all QWERTY device.

Oh, and will I have to pay anything extra to get the web? Can I just have the WAP data plan and use the Nokia web browser for the fully-loaded browsing?

A do-it-all qwerty device with a 1.3 megapixel camera or better.

What carrier are you with?[/QUOTE]

I'm probably going to do T-Mobile. If I do get a Sidekick or iPhone, I'll go on postpaid, but if it's just the 3250, then probably prepaid.

I dont know about T's data prices/plans im with Cingy. They are comming out with the E62/61i that has a cam, but it will probably be a while.

I wish the US carriers would pick up these cool Nokias they've been selling in every other part of the world. Other than the 6101-6103's, 6030, E61, and 9300, that's it for Nokia. And the Pantech-designed Nokias are complete jokes and are insults to the Nokia name. At least T-Mobile picked up the 6133/6131.
