My receiver never likes to download the new software updates...and idea what to do?

If you power off the receiver for the night it should automatically do it... If not you should go to menu 6 (system set up)-1 (installation)-1 (point dish) and change the transponders to 13. Then you press cancel once and you press 5 (system upgrade). If the check it at whithout my permission you can power off the receiver, if not you have to select whitout my permission and power off the receiver. Once done you will have a message on screen Vital programm information is now being downloaded to your receiver do not disturb or cancel and you will see a download bar. When it reatches the end you can power on again and your software should be updated

Newsjunkie what is your actual software? For which model?
Nimiq 1 my answer would be...I don't know here they got those software version, but certainly not from our agent information system. Our system only gives us the E586 (4100) and V149 (9200) version

Your receiver has downloaded the new version...everything is up to date!
According to Falcon's update, the current firmware for the 3100 is E546 so I am confused?

It seems odd that the version would go from E541 to 546.

Both of my 3100's are on E541. One with REV 247 and one with REV 646

Just to clarify..... you cannot "set" a transponder. Every time you change channels, download the guide, etc the transponder value cahnges automatically internally.
Selecting a transponder on the setup screen menu-6-1-1 is a diagnostic tool only. As soon as you exit the menu it resets to whatever transponder it needs to view the channel you are on.

It needs to be on transponder 13 to download the new version of software. You go to menu 6-1-1 and then change it to transponder 13, then power off the receiver

It should be put onto Transponder #13 Nimiq 1 to FORCE a dowmload.
Unless Agent Express Vu is telling everyone that the receiver chooses Trans #13 when we all turn the receivers off at night, because I know I dont pick #13 then turn off and my receiver still takes updates.....
