I had a 3100 on my account since day 1, and in the latest swap they sent me cards for my other 2 recievers (6100, 5800) but not the 3100. I did not call because it was not hooked up at the time.

Now they want $99 to send me a card for the receiver. I don't think I should have to pay this but calling them just makes my blood boil.

What can I do?

By not hooked up do you mean it had been removed from your account.?

If you still have the S04 card, you should be able to add the receiver to your account and they will ship you a new S06 Card within 5 to 7 days.

I had a receiver I was not using when the Card Swap came round, but so I got a Card, I ensured it was on my account and that they shipped me a Card, not sure why others did not do this.

As for the $99, are they going to refund this after activating the Card.?

It was on my account at all times. I meant not hooked up to the TV. They want $99 to send me a new card non refundable. I have called twice and both times got nowhere. Very frustrating, makes me want to cancel.

Most odd. I even helped to get cards sent out last weekend for a neighbour who had 2 old 3100's in a closet for the last 6 months.

The Card in the 3100, it it the last generation, or from a previous Card Swap.?

Then sadly that is why you will have to buy a Card.

I would buy a 4100 before buying a new Card, same price.....lol

If you didn't activate your 2nd gen card, then they don't send you a 3rd gen card. I know of a few poeple that had the same problem as you.

It's crap. I won't pay for a new card or a new receiver, this is nonsense. If anyone has other ideas thinking outside the box please advise.

I already talked to retentions and all they gave me was 30% off my bill for a year.

One of the reasons I get from the Montreal office about NOT providing Cards when the receiver has not been used for an extended period of time, is the possiblility that the receiver has been modified to receive Bell programming without payment (Piracy). Now I am not implying that yours has been but that is the main reason they tell me they will not provide Cards.

There is no logical reason why ANY card from the last series cannot be used in that receiver, you just need to find the right person to actiavte it.

Good luck.

To complete approx 2 million customers with card swaps, assuming each customer averages 2 boxes, = 4 million. To have 100% logistics right, would be amazing. but face it 4million transactions, and yes there will be a few missing cards... simple call in will resolve it.

Of course it is worth more than $99. Doesn't answer my question though.

Anyone would agree that there is no reason they should be charging me for a card. I want to get a card for a receiver that has always been on my account. Just because it has a really old card they want to charge me. This is wrong.

"A simple call in" will not and has not fixed it. The OP has not got the last generation of Smart Card, he has a previous one.

As for Bell "missing Cards", no they did not, they never ship out cards for receivers that are NOT active on accounts.

There is no way round the charge for that type of Card because it has been several years since it was last used to receive Bell ExpressVu signals.

Just the way the cookie crumbles.......

Where there is a will there is a way. I understand you may accept these limitations but I do not.

I have done things before that people said cannot be done.

I know the correct people to call and could get a new Card in no time at all.

So there are NO limitation for me but there are for the general consumers. Not sure I ever said it could NOT be done.....It can and for you it is $99.

Well, I'm "anyone" and I wouldn't agree, under certain conditions.

If it is first gen (Rom10, Rom11, etc) then I fully understand why they are charging you.

This has been mentioned many times and if you had been keeping up with the forums then you could have activated it pre-swap to get in before the deadline and you would have received it for free. Add to that the retention deal and I think you have been treated fairly.

Since you know the correct people to call can you help me out? Send me a PM pls.

It's cool I understand their reasoning. You are free to agree with Bell. Some like to let companies walk all over them as Bell is known to do.

I have not been keeping up with forums as I don't think that should be needed in order to be treated fairly, but that's my opinion.

Retention deal is separate thing I should not have mentioned it since it has clouded the issue here.
