'300'

Saw this tonight. Very boring at the start. Battle scenes a bit disjointed and didn't flow very well. Some of the characters OTT. Still not the worst I've seen but not as good as expected

My boyfriend dragged me to see this tonight and I was not looking forward to it! BUT, I loved it!! Yes the men looked great but thats not the reason I think its great. I just loved it, the fights, the speeches, the whole story. :)

Just watched it last night and hubby and son loved it. It wasn't really my cup of tea and TBH I much preferred Braveheart
Thought the king (played by a scotsman) sounded like Mel Gibson did in Braveheart!!!!!!!!!!!!

I must say I did get more than a little bored during this movie. There's only so many times I can watch someone's head getting cut off.

Looked great though.

I really cannot wait to see this movie. The cinematography is amazing and the battle scenes are epic.

On a less serious note, 300 buff, half naked guys running around is more than enough reason for me to see it :p

I kind of liked it... but I was rooting for Xerxes.
Why?
Because this guy would hire anyone who could do a job! Didn't matter what you looked like he'd take you in. So not only was he an equal oppurtunity employer... he was a capitalist ta boot! :p

King Leonidas was a bit of a Nazi really.

It was interesting how the film kind of softened the comic. Leonidas's wife did not have a major role in the comic. Frank himself said that instead of Xerxes saying "Sorry you can't join us because..." to the hunchback, he would have laughed in his face and kicked him off the mountain!

So I liked the bad guy. But hey, I'm the kind of guy who roots for Darth Vader!
(Han Solo was cool. Couldn't root for Luke!)

Loved the Gladiator music at the end of the film. Even though it didn't fit. :)

That piece is called "Now we are free" by Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerard. It's originally from the movie "Gladiator".

It's a very 'ethnic' piece, there's African, Asian and European influences throughout it. Which is why it doesn't fit with 300, as the Spartans were *ahem* "pure".

Yes they were; transsexual people have been around throughout history.
There were certainly hjira in the Indian subcontinent at that time.

this film has to have some of the funniest pics made from it i have ever seen! Everything has parodied it, its madness.

No wait, THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!
