300 (Gerard Butler, Possible Spoilers)

While watching this film I really screamed, "THAT'S SO FREAKING COOL!" during the fight scenes.

My favorite part/scene was when the messenger of Persia was introduced, with all the galloping horses in slow-motion. Ack, so stunning! And the music is the best. It gets you in the mood.

Spartans continued to fend off the box-office competition as the battle epic "300" took the No. 1 spot for the second-straight weekend with $31.2 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

I saw the trailer for the movie with The Departed as well. My first reaction was 'What the hell?' But I admit it does look interesting. Not sure if I'd spend money on it though.
 
Me too!!! And the music in te long trailer is really good. I can't wait to see this. Isn't the lead guy in this on Rome?

Okay, I figured out what "Submission" is from .. it's (I feel so stupid) when the Persian messenger requires a sign of submission, the gift of earth and water. DUH! I felt so stupid haha.

Seeing it the second time around just strengthened my love for it. What was better was that I was sitting next to my friend who's seen in before and also loves it. Two of my friends loved it. (Excluding me and the one who already saw it). One screamed when the big dude threw the axe. Literally screamed. I forgot to warn her that he doesn't get decapitated like a lot of other people. One of my friends liked it, but it wasn't her type of movie; she's really non-violent, and got upset with all the animals being killed. I'm not a violent person either, but .. I get out my violence through watching this movie. And the other friend liked it, but it wasn't her type of movie. But she said the movie-quality was really good.

So .. yeah. My friend Alissa, the one who's seen it before, was like, "Next Friday? Want to go again?" :lol: The sad part is - I'd totally do it.
 
I just saw the trailer and it blew me away. It looks beautiful. I love how stylized it is like Sin City was (which is understandable because of Frank Miller :) )

I did see that David Wenham was in it. And I'm pretty sure he did a voice over part on one of the trailers. I'm a huge LOTR fan, so I got really excited when I heard/saw that.

My friend is supposed to call me soon. If she can't go, I'm going by myself. I have to go & see this. :lol:
 
I think we'll end up seeing it again at an iMax theater. He had Faramir and Eudorus as his sidekicks, that was awesome. \


The Queen reminded me more of Saffron Burrows from Troy than Keira Knightley. Still similarities.
