30 minutes with the MT4G

@iceberg, seriously, try it this way:
1. Download the root.rar file and unzip it to /sdcard on your device.
2. Run VISIONary to gain temp root.
3a. Start terminal emulator up on your device.(I prefer this method b/c you can see the output.) a. type "su" + enter to gain root privileges. b. Type "cd /sdcard/root" + enter. c. Type "sh root.sh" + enter. d. Follow the on screen prompts.
c. Now wait about 18 to 20 seconds and restart your device into the bootloader to check if S=off is displayed.
4. Start the device back up.
5. Run visionary again and reboot again. This will make root stick.
Go back up a couple of posts, I put in grankin01's link to root.rar. You may need to reboot twice, I had to on my first phone, but the second took it first time.

That's the method I had been using, I can't get the sh commands to work, and yea I've entered them correctly, and yea there is a .sh file in my root foler on the root of my sd card etc.

Alright.

So I finally got Visionary .11 .apk instead of the 14
after I extrated the root file
I double clicked it and oddly enough there was the same single root folder again containing all the same junk

so i copied that over
I got the sh command to work
it gave me an error
and then it told me to reboot into hboot or whatever
s=off and I had true root.

Rebooted
went into rom manager and it failed / couldn't run the right commands to install the recover so I
went into temrinal typed in su
was denied
was mad
went into visonary clicked permaroot, told me to remp root first :|

did that, then permaroot
and it worked
rom manager installed
and I just completed my first nan back up.

this damn phone.
Got it though.

Yea it was a pain in the butt haha.
In the settings under internal phone storage
total space is 1.13GB
and available space is .89GB
but I did download a ****load of apps after installing Cyans rom. But still I don't think I did 2GB's of apps so I guess that cache thing is still in affect.

It'll all come around eventually I'm sure don't trip, if you want the phone and you like Cyans roms then do it.
Personally now that I have a Cyan rom it just feels like my g1 and boring, but that's indeed what I wanted.
