Ive had my chihuahua since he was 3 months old, He's 3 yrs old now He did not start sleeping in a crate until about 10 months ago or so. He usually would go in any out w.o a problem and sleep through the night but have early morning wake up calls...Terrible yelps
Me and my bf have moved in together and we have been giving him a little more freedom (letting him jump on the bed, and roam around more, because hes fully house trained from what i can tell) but now as soon as i put him in his crate he will cry like mad for 10 minutes and pull the outside covers in the crate like a mad dog.
At night if we try to put him in he cries again (very loud i must say, he yelps more then cries) He'll then sleep through out the night and then he wakes up at the same time everyday (10:30 -11:00 am) and he wont shut up unless i let him out....i used to think it was because he wanted to get walked but that was false!
What can i do to keep him shut w.o screaming at him or spoiling him. I don't want him to think he can control me w. his cries. but if he doesnt let me sleep then i think i will have 2 give in.
