It has OS 8.5.1 and today i decided to download a program for it, burn it to cd and install it. Well the file is a ".sit" file. and i kinda assumed that the imac would recognize it, but no not so fourtunate. When i double click on the file it says (essentially) it can't find the file that created it so too bad outta luck. Am i missing something here? why isn't it working?
QUESTION #2
I want to update to OS 8.6, but it keeps saying i need to upgrade the firmware. Is this true? or is it going to say some other excuse for not working after i get the firmware?
QUESTION #3
If i wanted to install a different OS on a G3 (say Ubuntu Linux) would i just have to have the CD-rom in the disk drive to boot off of or is there more?
Answer 1 or all of the questions- and thanks for any answers!
