3 questions about Subwoofer to Amp....?

Hey, thanks for looking

if i am buying 2 12 inch dual subs (600 rms each to 1000 peak power each)

i know i am not supposed to run them at peak power, so

1) how many watt amp should i buy so that i will safely not blow them out?

and

2) do i need a 4 channel or 2 channel amp?
i don't plan on adding extra speakers to my car....

3) high pass filter or low pass filter?
